Project Summary
“We choose Health” is a partnership Erasmus+ K229 of 5 schools from Italy, Romania, Turkey Greece and Bulgaria who have developed a common project that responds to the common needs of the five schools: the necessity of awareness of the importance of preserving health through healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle for young pupils. It supports the European plan (2015-2020) for healthy nutrition and therefore reduces obesity in children and adolescents, the micronutrient deficit in removing unhealthy eating habits.
The project is made for 2 years, during which a lot of events take place in the school, in local community and abroad (245 persons).
The aim of the project is a theme that concerns all European schools therefore the project’s activities will be carried out in mixed teams of pupils and teachers from 5 countries.
We will also treat the importance of physical movement, plant protection (by planting, sowing and caring) alongside foreign language communication activities, improving IT knowledge by developing products 3D, producing films, initiating 3 eTwinning projects with others schools from Europe, to continue the similar project’s topics.
Objectives:
– students’ education to a healthy food, reducing the products consumption that cause obesity and other diseases with 40 – 50%, focused attention on a traditional cuisine; in school will be creating the Health Education Lab for project’s activities and will last at least 2 years after the project ends;
– education for Plant protection as a vital life component, understanding of the importance of plant organically cultivated in school yard or out of it, through activities involving 80% of target group;
– to strengthen foreign language and communication skills of pupils from the target group and teachers by participating in 5 LTTAs and 1 International Seminar and by setting up mixed student groups to produce the project’s final product
– to create networks through joint projects in eTwinning between our schools, by working together on same activities now and in others future projects, to exchange good practice examples about the daily school life, school teaching methods, school management and others.

Results and Impact
The benefits of the project will be recorded individually, through the school, the partnership, the local community (authorities, NGOs);
– students will become aware of the importance of maintaining health through the type of food, sports and lifestyle, combining computer and physical activities, team up with foreign students with whom they will communicate in foreign languages, learn to behave democratically, tolerant and non-discriminatory, building friends that will continue after the project ends. Students will also improve their IT skills, project management (these will be involved in all stages of the project – preparation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, dissemination and tracking) and through direct participation in the three eTwinning projects that this project generates.
Project staff will improve ICT skills, languages, about European projects. Local community, authorities and NGO will play an important role in this partnership by supporting project activities in school (meetings, seminars, workshops) and outside school through advertising and dissemination activities.
