Project Summary
The “Terra” project started from the observation, in France or in Italy, that a lot of students have difficulties in agricultural high schools. Problems manifest themselves in a variety of ways, often through poor school performance, absenteeism or even ill-being. There may be real suffering due to factors either internal to the school (mockery, exclusion..) or external to the school( personal, social or disability difficulty).
The aim of the project was to find ways to improve the daily lives of agricultural high school students in order to encourage them to be more fulfilled; this fulfilment is a determining factor in school success.
The lines of work” chosen were:
– promoting school inclusion, particularly for pupils with disabilities; sharing the experience of the Italian school, which offers all young people, including those with severe disabilities, the opportunity to attend “classical” secondary school.
– use innovative teaching practices such as ‘peer to peer learning’ to empower students in their learning.
–get students thinking about exclusion situations such as gender discrimination or school harassment to give them tools to protect themselves from these dangers.
The second major objective of the project was intercultural discovery. First of all, make acquaintance with the differences and specificities of the partner country. Use this difference in lifestyle in a broader reflection to find the diversity as something enriching and essential to our development. Then enter into a more technical theme, and use agriculture and environment as a red thread.
Finally, promote the use of ICTs as soon as possible through the creation and dissemination of digital work media, the use of the Internet particularly through sharing platforms, the production of digital videos by students.
Unfortunately, the health context in 2020 clearly stopped all actions. The project did not succeed in its entirety and remained on the actions carried out during the first year of cooperation
