Project Summary

The Erasmus+ school partnership project “Wildes Europa – Biodiversität von Natur- und Kulturlandschaften” deals with biodiversity of natural and cultural landscapes in the countries of the project partners Austria, Italy, Czech Republic and Poland. Within this project unique habitats will be visited. Thereby pupils get to know the manyfold fauna and flora and they learn about the characteristic and the significance of divers ecosystems. Organized in international teams the puplis work with the help of natural scientific methods on specification of plants and animals, they compare national and international concepts and programmes of conservation as well as strategies of supporting biodiversity in natural and cultural landscapes. The participants are enabled to acquire extensive know-how about biodiversity by experiencing outdoor educational methods and awareness raising for conservation and preservation of biodiversity as well as participating in workshops with experts of the respective nature reserve (e.g. national park ranger). Language skills are improved due to intensive co-operation during the mobility meetings. Further focus is put on learning about cultural and societal aspects and regional specifics. Modern information and communication technologies are used (e.g. internet platform) for the work. A joint product is the creating of a project website, presenting the results of the work, a “Picture Book of Diversity” for all local, national and European participants and multipliers, giving the members and visitors of the homepage a comparison of concepts within various nature conservation programmes. Records of the results and the progress of the project are kept on the project website and the project results are additionally edited and dissaminated in all participating countries.

The project results can be further used as teaching materials.
