Project Summary
The students directly involved in the project are two classes who study fashion and design in France and Italy. They are vocational school students.
The French and Italian students face the same difficulties.
Many don’t have the required skills to enter the labour market.
Most students come from disadvantaged backgrounds, have a low or very low academic level and difficulties in understanding.
Many lack motivation and are not really involved in their work.
This leads to a high rate of school dropouts both in France and Italy.
In view of the above, teachers have come up with an intercultural and interdisciplinary pedagogical project to fight early school leaving and increase inclusion.
Motivating production activities will enable students to develop high quality skills and abilities.
The discovery of European cultural heritage, and more particularly that of Lecce and Nancy, will broaden students’ open-mindedness.
The target language will be English.
Through collaborative activities on eTwinning, students are going to get acquainted and will discover the richness of their partners’ cultural heritage and their own.
Students are going to use the researches and activities carried out on Lecce and Nancy to design garments that will represent the differences and similarities between the two cities.
During the exchanges students will also create garments in collaborative workshops. These will be inspired by Art Nouveau in Nancy and Baroque Art in Lecce.
Collaborative fashion shows will be held in France and Italy during the exchanges to present the models.
These are going to be key events in our project and will value both the students and the schools.
Other students from both schools will also actively take part in the fashion show implementation.
Language and ICT skills will be improved throughout the project thanks to stimulating and challenging activities.
Collaborative and intercultural researches and creations will encourage cooperation and group cohesion and will make the students feel they fully belong to the European Community.
Thanks to their achievements students will acquire new production techniques and will become more proficient.
Creativity, which is greatly needed in the field of fashion and design, will also be enhanced.
This fruitful intercultural exchange will enable students to enter the labour world or to continue in higher education with more skills, self-confidence and confidence in the other.
This project will also set up a long-lasting partnership between the two schools and will lead to an exchange of best practices and knowledges.
