Project Summary

For this project the creative group of young people called Teine Teater is in partnership with group called Tilattomat and will produce a theatre performance for young viewers, playing it 7 times to Estonian and 7 times to Finnish replacementhomes(fosterhomes). Theatre is often reffered as a dieing art, we don’t agree with that and have tried to re-define the role of theatre for ourselves. We have done performances for not to please the audience, but rather to be useful for them– finding the problem areas and using the themes in our productions, we bring attention to the right things and might sometimes even offer some sort of relief for the audience.
The keypersonas in this project are Karl Edgar Tammi and Lauri Mäesepp from Teine Teater. They are theatre students from TU Viljandi Culture Academy , who have studied under the hand of professor Kalju Komissarov, and learned the basic skills of playing, directing and composing a play/performance. Projectparters Hennariikka Laaksola and Anna Kuusamo are also actors and directors from Finland, who have over a decade long experience in theatre, both as an actor and a director.

Their last show premiered in april 2014 in Viljandi, incollaboration with Teine Teater and was played both in Estonia and Finland. There are houndreds of children living in replacemant homes both in Estonia as Finland. The goal of the replacement homes is to satisfy the main needs of a child, to create a safe and good place for development and prepare them for a live as and adult. Evenso these kids are lacking of love, advisors and representative of good family values.
The ) goals of the project are:
1. Better grades among the replacemant home children and avoiding expulsion from school
2. Rise in studend activity and raising the intrest in studying
3. Rise in the student studying motivation
4. Developing a adequate selfesteem, self respect
5. Learning to know yourself trough poistitive experience in taking part in a play
With our project we want to help the pwople from replacement homes to unerstand informal education.
