Project Summary

Connected with our project we had a variety of aims and we tried to work in different fields to reach them.
The main aim was to bring our pupils nearer to the world of work and to improve their entrepreneurial and work-related skills (innovative ideas, hygienic standards, holding contacts with local firms, writing formal letters to find additional supporters) which are often not addressed in school curriculums.
To be innovative in the future it is necessary not only to have competences in the so-called typical school subjects but also to have competences like tolerance, self-confidence, creativity, team spirit and responsibility on one hand. And on the other hand it is important to have economical and financial knowledge as well as entrepreneurial competences like time efficiency, risk taking and distribution of tasks.
We founded the transnational pupils’ company “COSNAT” (cosmetics + nature) to develop the entrepreneurial skills of the students.
We had one main outcome: Together we developed new bio-based cosmetics. That means we created new creams, soaps, lotions, shampoos, peelings etc. on the base of plants (herbs/flowers).
Because we were three schools in the project our company had three branches:
The Liverpool school was responsible for promotion and marketing because the conditions at their school in art/ drama are excellent.
The Meissen school had experienced stakeholders in the field of natural cosmetics and that’s why they were responsible for the production of cosmetic items.
The main part of the school in Kielce was the packaging of our cosmetic products especially soap.
We organized workshops on the topic “job orientation” at our three schools to learn from each other. The best ideas in this area will be shared by all participants in the future.
Another focus of the project was to improve our foreign language skills and our knowledge about the partner countries/ regions. So we used English to present our schools and regions as well as for the documentations within the project in eTwinning. Last but not least we organized city walks “Pupils guide their guests through their hometown” in English in our three towns.
Our products in the field of bio-based cosmetics are:
1. We offer instructions – “How to make my own bio-based cosmetics” – in form of a brochure and on our websites.
2. We distribute samples of our bio-based soap at our participating schools.
Originally we intended to sell our products but because of the restrictions of the EU this is not possible for us.
Making natural cosmetics is a very wide field and young people are very interested in environmental problems they face in everyday life. For them it is important to avoid mini plastics in their surrounding world and in our case especially in cosmetics.
That’s why we are convinced that it is worth to continue our project idea in a future Erasmus+ project.
