Project Summary

Your life – my life
The project began in autumn 2019 in parallel in Spain and Germany as part of German and Spanish lessons respectively. The pupils created initial introductory texts and compiled photos. They described their favourite place in the respective foreign language and prepared presentations on their leisure activities.
At the same time, the applications for the trips to Spain/Germany took place. After the exchange partners were assigned, the students contacted them personally.
Unfortunately, due to the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, both planned mobilities had to be cancelled. Despite difficult external conditions – schools were closed at different times, some classes were not held in the course system – we implemented some of our plans online via the eTwinning platform. The pupils presented their favourite dishes or described a day in the lockdown.
Through a questionnaire that the Spanish students created, a direct exchange about preferences and interests could take place. Unfortunately, the personal contacts could not be maintained in most cases.
Nevertheless, the majority of the students told us that they saw the work on the project as an enrichment of their experience. We assume that the virtual experience has also broadened their intercultural competences. For the linguistic competences, this is definitely to be noted.
We were able to compile numerous results on the eTwinning platform; some of them have been released to the public. Some other pages remain in the protected space of the project due to privacy concerns on the part of the parents, as they contain private photos of the participants.
The (school) public is informed about the project via the websites of the participating schools.
In the future, we will continue to integrate elements of the project into the foreign language lessons, as this form of work has had a great motivational and competence-building effect.
The cooperation between the two schools could be deepened through the project and further cooperation in the future – in the context of a certification – is being planned.
