Project Summary
The project “In the world of European values with students ” will be implemented from October 2019 to the end of September 2021 by five educational institutions: in Poland, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece. The project is based on the research outcomes and observations regarding low civic awareness in European societies. It also takes into account the curriculum of lower secondary school which does not focus on sufficient knowledge and training of intercultural skills. Unfortunately the curriculum does not prepare enough students to be active in this particular area. The social and cultural issues proposed by the applicants may be attractive to students from different European countries, especially if they are related to student exchange and enriched with a linguistic and cultural context.
The project assumes the implementation of issues related to the following thematic modules :
-1, Timelessness of human values, their significance for human development and the development of societies and countries.
2 Diversity among us,
3., My place in a global village – techniques of influencing human minds and bodies leading to the elimination of stress, building self- esteem and training to make conscious choices between values and promoting a healthy lifestyle, healthy eating and being active
4 Discrimination, anti-discrimination including the use of tools to counteract exclusion, determination of its causes, empathy training, workshops indicating the possibilities and necessity of rejecting hate speech
5 Cyberbullying – violence and mobbing and ways to defend against them – familiarizing participants with displays of violence in real life and in the network, classification of violence due to working methods, principles of its operation and psychological foundations that are a real source of problems (including fear and a sense of hopelessness ) workshops that counteract escalation of conflicts
6 Criticism – manipulation and ways of counteracting it – explaining the essence of manipulation, explaining techniques used in its implementation. Conducting the training of the awareness of its existence on a daily basis and the defense against it
During 2 years of the project, we anticipate 5 short-term student exchanges (The first meeting will be in the applicant school and other meetings in all partnership countries). Coordinators will communicate via e-mails, videoconferences, e-Twinning
