Project Summary
The title of our project “LiveArt” – “Živé Umenie” was shaped on the basis of several factors creating the project. The aim of the project, that we aimed to reach together with the school in Ostrava, was to support international, “live” cooperation between the institutions. We aimed to create “live” – contemporary art using classical and modern technologies applied in practice, cooperate in education and upbringing of our students and collaborate mainly in the art fields of study. The project involved students from two secondary art schools attended by the students at the age from 15 to 19. These students are at the beginning of their educational path, so the need to increase – cultural awareness, communication skills, information and communication (ICT) competencies – is urgent. The length of the project was set for a period of one year with the goal to exchange skills and competencies in selected art techniques, interchange was among students and qualified teachers.
The main goal of the project was to connect theoretical study of students provided in school with acquired practical skills, we want to adapt and implement techniques in selected art fields of study. The participants gained necessary information about work environment, working tools, work procedures and practical use of selected techniques (overall management of technological work procedures).
Partial aims of the project:
– personal development of the participant – gain and improve social competencies
– improve their results in education, the choice of project participant is contingent on adequate results and progress in the process of education
– connect theoretical study of students provided in school with practical skills acquired in training centres of other schools
– develop information and communication competencies
– gain expert knowledge and develop competencies
– mobility is a part of education and is interconnected with theoretical school subjects
– increase employment of graduated students
Target groups involved in the project:
– 3 qualified teachers from both schools (completely 6 directly involved qualified teachers)
– 15 students from each school (completely 30 students from co-working schools)
During the project “LiveArt” and its first mobility lasting 12 days we visited the school AveArt Ostrava and became rightful members of their school for short time period. A group of selected 15 students and 3 teachers was involved in the project. Realization was divided into two workweeks with the focus on 2D/3D animation and 3D printing. The topic was chosen sensitively, with the respect to concept and kind of chosen input medium. The results are 15 objects created in 3D graphic programme and consequently processed by one of the most modern methods used nowadays, 3D printing. Results are also 15 short sequences created on graphical tablets and then connected to one 2D animation with the title Metamorphosis.
The second meeting was held in school in Hodruša-Hámre, the lenght of stay was two weeks. In this time period students of school Ave Art Ostrava gained experience of techniques in fields of study – art processing of metals and precious stones. The next specialization in this field of study was flat surface and relief engraving, in which they learned techniques of hand engraving and the production of graphics from copperplate.
The project was finished by the art exhibition of artworks created by students from both schools involved in this project. The title of the exhibition was LiveART. Artworks on the art exhibition were presented to other teachers, students and public. We also promoted the dictionary in three languages (English – Czech – Slovak) focused on art terminology as well as essential terminology.
The stay in 3rd biggest town in Czech Republic helped students to increase cultural awareness by visiting a wide range of cultural facilities offered in the town. Working with graphic programmes help participants to gain new information and communication (ICT) skills and improve their competencies. Communication skills of students were improved through communication in new environment and in new school.
Gained experiences and created contacts provide a great asset to the whole team and each person that was member of the project.
