Project Summary

The consortium consists of organisations from 5 countries with extensive experience in the topics covered, and multiple contacts inside and outside each country
STREAM project aims to
(1) develop all key skills for lifelong learning;
(2) provide a demanding teaching and learning process for students with above average abilities, contributing to the motivation of students who have great aptitude for STREAM areas, and those who doesn´t;
(3) train peer strategies among students;
(4) focus on a methodology that has been extensively studied (http://www.cast.org/) but not really implemented: UDL-universal design for learning-which is different from pedagogical differentiation/differentiated instruction (PD/PI), contributing to a more inclusive school for ALL;
(5) train teachers and SEN Staff to intervene with students with high capacities and with learning difficultiesn/reading and writing difficulties, including dyslexia, which is the most common type of learning disability (https://www.idaontario.com/about-dyslexia/)
Looking at each and every one in order to create truly inclusive schools is the purpose of this project
To be achieved this, teachers and other technicians need to know how, and that is why we designed 4 LTTAs, attended, each one,by 4 elements from each partner country,selected according to criteria defined in the project,and presented in this document
Each country will be responsible for replicating each LTTA, with a strong practical component (workshop), it is essential that as many teachers, SEN Staff and parents participate as possible (minimum 30 participants), involving as many schools as possible, so that these strategies and materials, inclusion engines, reach as many people as possible.All of these materials and strategies will be integrated in a guide book available in various media and also on the project website, open to all, free of cost
LTTAs will also be fundamental for the fulfillment of what is foreseen in the outputs.
The STREAM project has 3 outputs:
1-STREAM Book: (1) What is STREAM; (2) How to implement it in a regular classroom; (3) Needs of students with dyslexia/learning difficulties; (4) Needs of high performing students; (5) Benefits of peer-to-peer methodology/help.
2-STREAM Classroom: (1) the construction of innovative and challenging projects conducted by competent teachers in the STREAM areas; (2) the elaboration of lesson plans and innovative activities within the STREAM areas, with the main objective – working on reading /writing; (3) Some of the classes will be given by students to students within the scope of eTwinning; (4) the construction of programs aimed at students with dyslexia or other reading difficulties, conducted by students led by SEN Staff; (5) the dissemination of best practices in the teaching of STREAM and work focused on reading /writing; (6) the compilation of all material in a STREAM BOX and the dissemination of all these activities.
3-Webquest-CRD – focused on intervention on the Causes of Reading Difficulties associated with dyslexia, the program can be used with students with other reading difficulties.
Each output will involve the construction of at least one article and/or presentation per country, and, in the case of outputs 2 and 3, there will be workshops for parents, teachers and SEN Staff that exemplify how to use the materials produced. There will also be job shadowing activities in order to show on the ground how to do it.
There will be project presentation sessions for parents, teachers, SEN Staff, partners in each country with responsibility for education. Flyers and logo will be created to publicize the project in schools and other events.The project will be in the maximum number of events possible, in the voice of those responsible and other elements for it in each country, which will be easy considering that the Consortium has links to several central structures in each country, and the elements that constitute it are frequently invited to events, including television and radio, to talk about the topics under discussion in this project.
The project will have a strong dissemination practice, which will be designed in a general plan and implemented based on national plans.The sustainability of the project is ensured because all the materials produced will be online on various platforms, including on the project’s website. In addition, as, among the consortium, there are several trainers in these areas, the products of this project will continue to be talked about and worked on in these trainings after the project ends.
Each central point of the project and the respective stages have responsibles for defining the timelines for its accomplishment, for supervising the entire process and for evaluating what has been done.This continuous accountability of everyone in relation to their respective leaders and from them to the general coordinator, Portugal, will ensure the fulfillment of all the objectives set with a level of excell
