Project Summary
Cultural Heritage is an expression of the ways of living developed by a community and passed on from generation to generation, including customs, practices, places, objects, artistic expressions and values.Cultural Heritage is often expressed as either Intangible or Tangible Cultural Heritage(ICOMOS, 2002).Cultural heritage implies a shared bond, our belonging to a community. It represents our history and our identity;our bond to the past,to our present, and the future.
Cultural heritage often brings to mind artifacts (paintings, drawings, prints, mosaics, sculptures),historical monuments and buildings,as well as archaeological sites and also photographs, documents, books and manuscripts, and instruments, etc. as individual objects or as collections.
Partner schools that are aware of the importance of culture and cultural heritage for society, have different works to increase cultural awareness of students. For example;in Bulgaria,we have a big kitchen and we cook different traditional meals of other countries. In Turkey, they try to increase common identity understanding via drama,in North Macedonia, they give the bond between past and present by teaching handwork and traditional dances. In Romania, music teacher organise concert with their students. They sing traditional songs of their country. And Portugal have culture courses to teach differences and similarities of among cultures. But,unfortunately each partner don’t reach their aim.All partner schools are located in a small and rural area.To feel cultural unity, people need to live it.So we decided to meet students, bring students together. They will learn culture and cultural value with by interacting with each other. We will reach our aims with peer learning and living doing method.
