Project Summary
Characterized by the ideas of the Catalan project participants, who were strongly orientated towards business, an idea was born that students should found companies, which they had to manage and present, in order to understand economic contexts. Offering services with the focus on European tourism was the main goal of those student companies. Hereby they were supposed to focus on the region they live in and especially their regional distinctions. All this was done in collaboration with our former vice-principal Martin Teuber.
The following aspects had to be implemented: to develop a business and marketing plan as well as to develop a corporate identity, which they should present on their own website. Regarding this aspect the participants had to create divisions in their companies who had to focus on the subcategories: “Sightseeing”, Outdoor activities” and “Job opportunities”.
Four schools from four European countries participated in this project.
– from Catalonia: Institut Pius Font i Quer
– from Slovakia: Obchodná akademiá
– from Italy: Istituto Statale Istruzione Superiore Sciascia Fermi
– from Germany: Europaschule Krupp-Gymnasium
The student’s companies have developed their own Internet presence according to the agreed project ideas and reported on their services in the form of blogs or websites. Some products, such as a cookbook with recipes from the different European regions of the project participants or a calendar showing the course of this project, have also been made available as print media.
In school, the student’s companies were presented in different ways, e.g. on project days, open days, on school celebrations and in the school’s Krupp newsletter.
