Project Summary

The aim of the project was to increase the quality of pre-school care for children under the age of three by the exchange of experience among foreign partners, through educational activities for teachers and managers of nursery schools involved, and through creating information materials about the adaptation of children under the age of three for pre-schools and for parents.

Thematically the project dealt with two areas:
1. adaptive processes in pre-school facilities and with the means of cooperation with parents of the smallest children in this area and
2. bilingual pre-school education.

The partners of the project were the project coordinator, the Kids Company pre-school from Prague, the German foundation von Laer Stiftung and the Danish organization Deutsche Kindergärten Sonderburg (DKS).

During the project three meetings took place (two in person and one online), attended by managers of the kindergartens: managing director and pre-school director of the KIDS Company Prague, two managing coordinators of the von Lear Stiftung and two pre-school directors of the DKS. Furthermore three one week joint staff training events took place- job shadowing activities attended by teachers from the partnering kindergartens. During this joint learning activities, reports were created, which served as inspiration materials for teachers in the Czech Republic, Denmark and Germany, who could not attend the activities. A total of 6 pre-school directors and 18 teachers directly participated in the project activities.

Based on the exchange of experience, the partners created information material about appropriate approaches to child adaptation to pre-school facilities – designed for teachers, parents and for other pre-schools.

The project language is German, but outputs (information material) was also written in Czech, Danish and English.
