Project Summary

The twinning between Villefranche de Rouergue in Occitanie (France) and Pula in Istria (Croatia) will celebrate its 10th year in 2018/2019. This is the opportunity to reinforce cooperation and history between both regions highlighting two local agricultural productions of superior quality (Istria olive oil and milk-fed lamb in Occitanie) all gourmet food products as well as their cooking use. For five years now, Croatia has been an EU-member and these exchanges represents an opportunity for students of the four French and Croatian high schools, committed in the project, to deepen their sense of belonging to the European Union. During these two years of collaboration, students helped by theirs teachers have been able to exchange knowledges and know-how on agricultural productions,added value in farming and catering. The health crisis we are going through has not made it possible to achieve all the mobilities. Thus, the French mobilities in Croatia took place as planned but the Croatian mobilities took place virtually through videoconferences and exchanges via the Google Drive platform.
However, meetings between students among themselves and with professionals will be enhanced by the high schools concerned to give evidence to their future students of the importance of relationships between both cities and regions. Strong relationships have lasted for 10 years today. Moreover, this work has been the opportunity to permit students the acquisition of knowledge, competences and practical know-how so as to facilitate their profesional integration. Our schools will be thus able to meet our local needs in term of jobs and local development.
