Project Summary
Having arrived at the end of our three year project, we believe that much of what we set out to achieve during this project has been realized by all the schools. During this project we agreed with the suggestion not only to visit other classes to see the education in technology during the lessons, but we wanted to have suggestions for lessons in a certain format that all teachers and pupils of our partner schools could use. We decided to make technical boxes in a certain format using also English handouts for pupils as well for teachers. The benefit of this idea was, that we could put our suggestions and examples about the boxes on our website.
We also decided that every partner school would ask three schools or more to join the project as parallel school, these other schools could use our boxes or ideas of the boxes. So in this case there where 6 partner schools directly participating in the project and more than 18 parallel schools who had the boxes also in their school. So more than 24 schools did use the boxes. On an average of 200 pupils per school more than 4800 pupils did work with our boxes, and had benefit of this Erasmusplus project!! And we in The Netherlands noticed that schools visited our website and copied the handouts of the boxes presented on the web-pages. A lot of schools in different parts of our country liked them. We know that by the reactions we got via Etwinning and emails. This situation was also in the countries of the partner schools. We were surprised by these results that were shown during our last project meeting.
Although it is one of the subjects school curriculum and most of our teachers have been trained in how to teach science and technology, some were not very confident about their ability to teach this subject well. All our teachers participated in this project. They developed new ideas for the technology boxes, with clear and age-appropriate instructions, and then tested them on different age groups.
At the start and the end of our project we held a survey about the items of the project. The outcome was rather negative but the last survey at the end of the three year of this project was remarkable positive. They will be sown further in this report. Every school will publish the own intern survey in the final report and/or on the school website
