Project Summary

In the world of 21st century, despite the large scale of publicity about the equal opportunities in many areas, it is a well-known phenomenon that there are so many people who suffer from inequality in fields such as education, language acquisition and digital competence. It is vital that everybody regardless of their racial, social and gender backgrounds be given the same level of rights concerning access to a high level of education, digital competence and a good command of foreign language(s). These issues are matters which must be addressed urgently in order to raise the awareness of larger groups of both ordinary people and authorities. Only after everybody is provided with these opportunities, can it be possible to achieve the equality in many areas in societies and as a result of this, the equality obtained will eliminate discrimination, segregation, racism, bullying, violence, and other forms of online misinformation and thus leading to a happier and more peaceful Europe.
• This project aims to address all these issues and to raise awareness of students, teachers, school administrators and local authorities by highlighting these marked differences in opportunities and asking for the same deserved rights for all people irrespective of who they are, where they are from, whether they are male or female. This project will provide practical solutions for these problems for a better Europe with happier, healthier, and more equal citizens, who have competences both in at least two foreign languages and in digital life.
• The participants of the project will include pupils, teachers, and school staff from Turkey, Bulgaria, Italy, Romania, Norway and Portugal. The pupils who will take part in the project will be between 14 and 18 years old. The number of the participants in the project will be about 150 students and teachers plus school staff as well as many more indirect participants who will be involved in activities of the project like conducting questionnaires and hosting guests from participating schools. Local authorities along with the representatives of local press will be indirectly involved in the project as a means of disseminating the results.
• The activity concerning a manifesto of “Say “No” to …” ,which will include such things as discrimination, segregation, racism, bullying ,violence, fake news, gender differences and other forms of online misinformation will aim to raise the awareness of as many people as possible and help solve them. The activity “Education with no barriers” aims to highlight the opportunities of exploiting the open education and to reveal the insights one can gain through the use of digital and new technology. The activity will contain presentations about which purposes the digital and new technology could be employed and the probable threats they may pose. Another activity named “Who must do what for social inclusion?” contains presentations concerning the responsibilities of different segments of society to help solve the barriers when it comes to social inclusion. The content of “Language Teaching” is the advantages one is likely to have when he/she has a good command of English, which is regarded as an international language. Presentations about “Gender Discrimination” focus on the fact that usually women are treated differently and unequally from men in their education, career, economic advancement and political life. A document called “Declaration of Equality” will be prepared and this document will be the final activity of the project.
• Various types of activities will be employed during the course of the project like presentations by multi-media means, questionnaires which will ask for the opinions of the students, role plays and games. We will make use of other ways of implementations such as printed and e-materials, dramas, interviews, questionnaires, lectures, workshops, games ,quizzes and even poems as well as seminars to be attended.
• With this project we try to get the result and impact of exerting an influence on raising the awareness of the participants as well as those interested in social inclusion, digital and language competence and to offer practical and concrete products which can be available for as many people as possible without reservations. In the long run, this project will help lead a more equal, thus more prosperous Europe with its tips for the mentioned topics and more importantly with its practical products both in the printed and electronic forms, which will be easily accessible to anyone interested in the topics of the project without limitations.
