Project Summary
This Project is a continuation of the relationship between Swiss Cottage School in London, UK and Ekholmsskolan in Linköping, Sweden. Due to the profile of pupils at these schools, all participants in this project will have Special Educational Needs. This project will focus on developing teaching and learning for Positive Health and Wellbeing and will be centred around four exchanges over two years, as well as ongoing E-Twinning activities to maintain momentum throughout the project.
The first half of the project, including the first two exchanges, will focus on promoting and developing positive physical health, hygiene and healthy diet. The exchanges and E-Twinning activities will allow young people to share skills and activities with each other, as well as allowing teaching staff to share best practice in teaching these areas of the curriculum.
The second half of the project, including the final two exchanges, will focus on promoting Wellbeing and Mental Health. Similarly, the exchanges and E-Twinning activities will allow young people to share skills and activities with each other, as well as allowing teaching staff to share best practice in teaching these areas of the curriculum.
Between the exchanges, young people from Ekholmsskolan and Swiss Cottage School will maintain contact through Skype conversations and E-Twinning activities to share resources, tips and progress towards what they have learned as part of the exchanges, as well as to disseminate this throughout the wider school communities.
At the end of the project, a case study will be written by both participating schools to outline key findings and anecdotes to highlight success. Both schools will also give presentations to the wider teaching network in their local area.
