Project Summary

In the course of the project, the participating students deepened their language, media, communicative, cultural and social competences. These skills will help students to successfully meet the growing demands in these areas in the future, both in the school and out of school framework.

Students who already took part in the previous project “Kulturkiosk I” transfered their already acquired digital skills to students newly participating. They used student conferences and workshops. All participating students were enabled to become more independent, equal and willing to exchange with each other in a democratic way. They also developed skills to collaborate, evaluate their work process and results themselves and incorporate these knowledge into the wider work process.

All materials created by the students are published on the following website https://interactive-museum.guide/ -> „Unesco-Welterbe (Kulturkiosk II)“ and can be used as learning material in form of games, timelines, videos, presentations, etc..

To integrate young refugees into the project had not been possible. In Graz due to changed policy guidelines – the welcome classes were dissolved at the school during the project period). There was also no possibility to integrate students with a refugee background at Delmenhorst. It was impossible to attract these students to do so due to l linguistic difficulties. They couldn’t be convinced to perform in front of a large audience.

Several students participating in the project continue to have close friendly and family relationships, which have already been reflected and will be reflected in reciprocal visits and holidays spent together. The cultural acquaintance and exchange goes far beyond the school framework, capturing parents, grandparents and close friends of participating students. The European idea is particularly deepened and lived here.

In addition, several students are planning to stay and learn at a partner school for several months, living in host families during this time. There are also concrete ideas to study at universities throughout Europe after a successful school leaving certificate.
