Project Summary

*Context
The present project KA229 “A glance to the future: environment and healthy habits”, unites the efforts of four countries (Bulgaria, Italy, Greece and Spain) with the aim of providing our students with a unique experience in their lives. Some of the objectives of this project are based on the Sustainable Development Goals of the European 2030 Agenda, through which we intend to promote interest for the environment and its care, an appreciation of the natural heritage, and the adoption of healthy habits. In addition, there are other objectives that we hope to achieve, such as the promotion of the English language, digital competence or the autonomy of our children, and the most important, to promote equality and cohesion and tackle early school leaving.

*Participants
This project is addressed to students from 3-12 years old. The characteristics of our pupils differ, as we want to work with heterogeneous groups and give a chance to students with fewer opportunities, as a part of them suffer from serious economic problems.
All the students of the schools involved in the project will take part of it, through the use of ICTs and their participation in the activities in their own center. In addition, some students from each member country, will take part in mobilities abroad. The numbers of the students involved has been decided taking into account the characteristics of each centre.

*Objectives
-To build solutions for the problems in our environment.
– To value our environment and heritage.
-To develop healthy habits in our students.
– To promote equity, social cohesion, and active citizenship.
– To tackle early school leaving.
– To strengthen the feeling of the European community.
– To improve communication using the English language with our European partners.
– To improve socialization and autonomy.
– To form friendships and long-lasting contacts between students and teachers from other partner countries
– To improve the use of ICTs in the partner schools.

*Learning Teaching Training Activities
– Spain, November 2019: first meeting for teachers only. Planning the activities, calendar, assessment of the project.
– Bulgaria, March 2020: students exchange. “Sport activities for healthy life”
– Greece, March 2021: students exchange. “Utilizing herbs in or day-to-day care”
– Spain, May 2021: students exchange. “A healthy farewell”. End of the project, conclusions, assessment of the activities and the achievement of goals.

* Results and impact
Project results will include the eTwinning account, Facebook account, initial and final evaluation documents, progress and final reports, dissemination materials, certificates of attendance, Europass certificates, collection of activities regarding environment and healthy habits.
The impact will be observable at the level of students (cultural awareness, acquisition of European values, development of skills, acquisition of knowledge, improvement of school results, self-confidence), teachers (better cultural awareness, improvement of leadership, communication, presentation skills, experience in projects), institutions (improvement of human resources, increased group cohesion, positive image).
There are also long-term benefits we expect to achieve:
The project’s results will be used during current class work by the teachers; the schools will set up environment clubs, in which students will cooperate with their peers. Schools will improve material basis and will earn Erasmus+ management experience, so that they can apply for new project in the future.
