Project Summary

“Think global, act local.” This is the motto that describes best the contents, the challenges and the expectations that go with our project “A Vision Shared – Promoting UN Sustainable Development Goals in and beyond School”.
The main aim is not only to learn and get familiar with the sustainable development goals the United Nations have agreed upon but also to find out to which extent these goals have or have not already been realized in the communities of the five partner schools.

By cooperating with institutions and organsiations which are an the forefront in the field odf sustainability we will gain firsthand knowledge and impressive insights in the complex process of bringing the UN development goals to a happy end – for us and for our planet. We hope to benefit from the present ecological movement amongst the students (FFF manifestations!) and we will try to use this positive trend and motivation to promote the UN sustainable development goals we have decided to focus on in and beyond our schools.

The five ERASMUS partner schools from Germany, England, Italy and France and their respective project teams will see to it that project-based and innovative approaches such as graffiti workshops, sustainable school film festivals, school radio projects, etc. will spread interest and enthusiasm not only amongst the pupils participating in the meetings but also – via school development teams – in the whole school and community. This will lead to a greater awareness of the necessary steps to be taken in the different fields of sustainability and will also foster the idea of an United Europe as these goals can only be reached through common efforts.

Due to the long and solid experiences the participating schools already have in the field of school exchanges and international projects as well as their existing well-established local and regional network with relevant institutions that are active in the field of sustainability a solid basis is given to meet the high expectations of this project. However, only in retrospect – and not before 2030 – we will know for sure if all our efforts have been successful. In retrospect we should at least be in a position to say : With our Erasmus project A Vision Shared – Promoting UN Sustainable Development Goals in and beyond School we have contributed our part and we have given our best to make our planet at least partially a better place!
