Project Summary

At the very beginning it must be said that all three partner schools have known each other for some years and have already worked on a Comenius programme. After more or less more general topics it was time for a very challenging task according our daily work as an educational institutuion: Our three different partner schools wanted to take a closer look at different phases in a pupil’s life. After carrying out the project it can be said that in general all partner schools in Spain, Poland and Germany have similarities in their students’ careers, but at certain steps there are differences in the approach of achieving the one and only aim at school: Giving our students the best education and making them fit for living and working in our modern Europe. That’s why all three schools wanted to do some research on the handling of the important phases of a pupil’s life at our schools with the aim to exchange our results and to take over better methods in achieving successful results.
The first period of our project consisted of a special look at the step when primary students are taking the next step into secondary education and how this important phase is prepared by teachers and parents. How are young pupils accompanied after leaving primary education and stepping into a world which is mostly dominated by young teenagers. As our Spanish partner school has as well as primary students and secondary school students, the school could examine this phase of a pupil’s life in the field of learning new subjects like languages and natural sciences etc.
The second period dealt with the important decision of parents and pupils what kind of educational qualification the child would like to achieve in his career. Here many people who are interested in the choice of the right kind of school will have to work together, e.g. parents, teachers and school authorities. And it is important to take into consideration what kinds of schools are in the neighborhood of the primary school and if the schools are fit to educate the pupils due to their needs in the future. As the Polish school has many middle school pupils here this decisive step in the further development of a students could be examined best.
The third interesting phase of the project did research on the process of finding the right job in the future or to go on to study. Here different aspects such as getting the required qualification at school, choosing the best subjects for further education and job training play an important role. In German schools an early job finding process is carried out, beginning at the age of 13. That’s why the German school examined this phase of a pupil’s life for the project. But in this phase students have to decide what they want to study at a college or university. They must be well-prepared by teachers and by themselves to master a diploma or bachelor in the end. The school in Altentreptow is an institution where there are grammar school students as well and it was hereby qualified to examine this interesting phase in a student’s life.
We divided our project work into 3 phases of each year: First there was a coordinators’ meeting to mastermind each project year, i.e. set up aims for the year at school and the upcoming European week and later to evalaute the work done. Secondly, there was a year filled with project work according to actions from the application form and the events due to the timetable. Thirdly, there was the highlight of each project year: our annual European week at one of the three partner schools.
Acoording to the topic of our project one must look at our surveys we carried out. Here coordinators of the 3 schools wanted to find out reasons why young learners sometimes face difficulties at school at certain times, especially when it comes to move to the next level of education. As our pupils know best about these difficulties, coordinators invoved them in the creation of the surveys (see summaries of the surveys at the ERASMUS+ PROJECT RESULTS PLATFORM).
It is planned now to use the achieved results for all partner schools, i.e. at teachers’ conferences the results of the project work (surveys) will be presented in order to draw the rigth conclusion for the further word at each school so that students and parents can profit from our common project.
At the short-term exchanges of groups of pupils – our so-called European weeks – students of all three schools introduced their findeings to all other participants. Furthermore the weeks were full of workshops, excursions and many other activities, for further information see WEBSITES OF THE PARTNER SCHOOLS: http://colegiolabor.com/proyecto-europeo/erasmus-2016-2019, www.sp23koszalin.pl/erasmus.htm and https://www.kgs-altentreptow.de/Profile/Erasmus-
