Project Summary

Promoting intercultural dialogue provides a means to enjoy the richness of cultural diversity and to link different cultures, communities and people. Our partnership aims at continuing the work of a larger group of European schools with very rich cultures/history that have started working together but have had to stop their project prematurely. The project work of our 6 schools from Finland, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Slovenia is planned accordingly for 2 years.
The idea is to invite young people and adults to discover and experience Europe’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. Our main objectives are :
-To assist in the cultural richness of Europe, to enhance our students’ cultural awareness and to design initiatives ensuring effective access to and participation in cultural activities in different Member States
-To promote the social inclusion of our students, to celebrate diversity and equality, in school education and in our schools, in order to support our disadvantaged students, who are the most affected by the negative impact of discrimination, racism and xenophobia.
More than 35 staff & 963 students will be directly involved in our projects activities. A minimum of 124 mobilities is organized to help both students and staff meet physically with different cultures and understand the tangible and intangible heritage aspects of our European countries.
During the two years’ period of cooperation in this project, all partner teachers & students will elaborate specific common project activities, exchange work and contact one another through e-mail communication, meetings through the etwinning platform and Learning/Teaching /Training activities.
Our shared Twinspace will host the activities carried out in each school & will be a key tool:
Adequate communication, cooperation and collaboration will facilitate our organisations and all the organisational decisions will be shared under the guidance of the coordinating school.
Learning through art and culture is experiential and sensory, so it is engaging and memorable. It is also creative and interactive, as the cultural process is one of exploration and participation; it includes higher-order skills such as critical thinking, creativity, cooperation, problem-solving adaptability and self-evaluation. Dancing, singing, art, cooking activities provide students with tangible tools for self-expression.
As a result produced from relevant activities, we will make DVD’s on our schools/towns/countries, an art project’s calendar for years 2021-22, DVD’s on presentations of cultures of hosting countries during meetings and with local traditional dancing and cooking sessions, during Learning/Teaching activities. Language teaching and learning is essential to ensure that European citizens can move, work, and learn freely throughout Europe : we will have DVD’s with language lessons, books displaying our varied traditions/celebrations, CD’s of local traditional songs and music, books with traditional recipes of all partner countries, mother tongue language books and audio supports.
We will also establish yearly exhibitions at each school, with final products of activities.
Our diversified pedagogical approaches will help to foster the social and cultural awareness of learners of all ages as part of a guided learning process. All activities will be integrated in an Etwinning ongoing project. Our shared twinspace will facilitate the communication between all partners and will allow a wider dissemination.
We will advertise our project and its homepage (links from the schools own pages, links from the partner blogs, etc.)
The main envisaged impact on the participants will be cultural consciousness and awareness. Our students and especially our disadvantaged students’ horizons will be broadened, by giving them the opportunity to be introduced to different cultures and communities. The teachers may develop a renewed enthusiasm for teaching, exchange of experiences, direct knowledge of the other institutions and educational systems, knowledge of the language of other countries in the group, knowledge of the different methods of teaching within the different schools in the group etc.
While working on this project, our students, teachers and educational authorities will learn more about Europe and appreciate the differences and similarities of the cultural background, schooling and local diversities, exchange significant experiences and accept cultural and linguistic differences, raising a positive attitude to the united Europe.
Generally, every person involved in this project & our own school communities (more than 3516 people)will have some longer term benefits, managing to develop a very positive attitude towards a more intensive cooperation for individuals and for society , increasing social cohesion and strengthening considerably the sense of belonging to a same community.
By exploring our past heritage and understanding our present, we aim to prepare our future.
