Project Summary
The goal of the project “Active, creative, enterprising” is the exchange of practices between partner schools and the development of soft skills and basic skills of students as well as professional qualifications of teachers. We assume that the project will have a positive impact on developing the language skills of the participants by emphasizing the use of English in practical situations. We want to inspire teachers and support schools in teaching economics and shaping attitudes of entrepreneurship, creativity, social and economic activity. We recognize the need for early implementation of pupils for conscious participation in economic and social life. We encounter many problems which solution is to study economics and to shape entrepreneurship. The problem is the lack of students’ interest in active participation in social and economic life, the perception of money as a superior value, the reluctance to undertake efforts related to education and work, and thus the threat of unemployment. We are observing an increase in expectations, with a lack of creativity, the ability to cope with stress, planning and managing time or resources, determining the goal and method of achieving it. Teachers are not prepared to teach and develop these skills and entrepreneurship. The project will be attended by students aged 12 to 15 years and teachers from 5 schools (up to 250 people in total). About 123 children and up to 40 teachers will take part in international meetings. In our activities, we will rely on activation methods, workshops and the method of an educational project. Participants will gain knowledge and shape skills through workshops organized during 5 short-term exchanges of groups of students. The topics and scope of the workshops are adapted to the possibilities of the schools that organize them. Classes will concern: theoretical foundations of entrepreneurship and shaping soft competences, developing creativity, (C1), creating a company, presenting and evaluating student projects (C2), social economy (C3), games as tools for teaching economics, including stock exchanges as a special kind games (C4), organizing student co-operatives and summarizing the project in the form of an international conference (C5) Students and teachers – as experts – after returning from the meetings they will share knowledge and skills, gain first-hand knowledge during meetings with specialists, people of success, entrepreneurs , enthusiasts, learn through practice (by implementing student projects) and play (using games), document the project by recording interviews, creating films, websites and newsletters. Students will combine their passions and talents with science. As part of the project, teachers will create teaching materials for studying economics and entrepreneurship, along with teaching materials for students. As a result of the actions taken, the competences and knowledge of project participants and people affected by it will increase. Students’ activity will increase as well as their conviction that it is worth engaging in social and economic life, and that passion and talents can be used in shaping the career path. Students will be able to consciously make choices regarding further education and career choice. The results of the project will be educational materials, including documentary films, jointly developed methods of teaching economics and shaping entrepreneurship. We will develop a discussion on the inclusion of economics in school programs. We will show you how you can shape entrepreneurship in local communities, drawing teachers, parents, representatives of universities and the business world into the process. By implementing tasks during international meetings, we will increase the openness, sensitivity and ability to see similarities and differences resulting from local needs and living conditions among their participants. We will also show the variety of problems they may encounter in life, we will develop the ability to dialogue, make decisions, work in a team, discussions, search for solutions using various methods and resources, we will shape entrepreneurial attitudes through direct contact, dialogue, comparison possibilities, analysis of the situation and jointly draw conclusions. In the long-term, schools will be able to use the cooperation established with the universities and the business world established during the project implementation. The methods and materials developed will be used in partner schools and disseminated as good practices that can be used by other environments and institutions. In the long term, our project is a kind of investment in local markets, in the economic future of pupils, local communities, partner countries and the European community.
