Project Summary

This project follows an Etwinning project carried out by “Lucian Blaga” Highschool in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, to which Viard Sainte-Rose Kindergarten, Guadeloupe , has adhered. Moreover, two other schools from Guadeloupe have joined in: Raphaël CIPOLIN Elementary school in Pointe-à-Pitre and the Reimonenq Joseph Elementary School in Sainte-Rose. This is a project called: “All Friends … On the Internet”. This partner has extensive experience in eTwinning and Erasmus projects. His flawless support was greatly appreciated. This project has raised many exchanges between us regarding violence in virtual space. It seemed important to us to tackle violence in real space together.
We have seen that the schoolyard is sometimes a place of psychosocial suffering. These places are spaces of fear and conflict that children cannot cope with. The consequences of this suffering have reduced availability for learning and have increased the risk of provoking a school dropout for certain students. The phenomena of rejection and harassment aggravate the anxiety-provoking effects of present times, which are supposed to recharge each child.
The feeling of security for each child improves his well-being and development. We developed an eTwinning project with the Romanian partner which other schools subsequently joined. It is called: “A safe and stimulative playground” and it is the origin of this Erasmus project.
A primary objective is set for us: to induce co-education mechanisms favorable to the development of the child and to the improvement of the learning process.
In order to improve all these we have decided to work for 2 years on developing a specific axis each year.
In the first year, we will develop peer mediation with dedicated spaces. We will develop this through children’s pieces of advice.
In the second year, we will organize the schoolyards according to the students’ needs and demands. We will implement various activities which depend on the setting of the environment.
During transnational meetings, the different teachers in the countries will be able to appreciate the different means and strategies of the partners to make these places healthier and thus more learning-friendly. We will be able to test and evaluate the different organizations chosen by our partners. It will then be up to everyone to build their own model based on what they have seen working and based on the local reality.
We will regularly organize eTwinning meetings to encourage exchanges between partners. We will be able to see the development and well-being of the students.
Our project will promote communication and receptiveness among children, their parents and their teachers across Europe. It will allow overseas territories to make themselves known and to have a broader vision of Europe and the different cultures it comprises. Thanks to this project, we will be able to open a window to our beautiful Europe for our students.
