Project Summary
Eurostat data indicate that the average 10% of the world’s population consists of disabled individuals which changes between 5% and 25% on the basis of countries, and 20% of which are composed of students studying at schools. The importance of modern and inclusive education that they will have from schools is very important for these students to get into business and vocational life within the social inclusion axis. Nowadays, there are individuals with special needs who have different individual disabilities in every society and the integration of these individuals into society and education is of great importance. The countries implement various policies and approaches to develop the basic skills of these individuals and to take an active role in the democratic society. “Art therapy”, which is the basic subject of our project, is one of these new approaches. Our project, “Smile with art”, which we have launched in e-Twinning with our partners, is the biggest motivation source of this project for transferring it to real life by making special need students smile with art therapies.
In this project, we aim to compare the different practices of art therapy with our partners in the European dimension, and to increase the quality by creating added value with the exchange of good practices with partner schools. The exchange of good practices to be carried out inthis project will satisfy our need to better integrate the artistic activities and school activities that make disadvantaged children smile with our partners and improve the intercultural competences of
teachers and students. A total of 80 teachers in the project will actively participate in the mobility of good practices. The sphere of influence of the activities will appeal to a wider audience with participating schools and local surroundings. These activities are planned to include different aspects of art such as drama, music, dance, ballet, sporting activities, recycling, painting, literature (poetry), ceramics, shadow play, marbling art taking into account the competence areas of schools. In this context, the partner countries will share their artistic activities with the participating teachers through the workshops that will be held in the mobility. Planned activities will be implemented by on-the-spot observation, learning by doing, application and evaluation methods. All works will be collected in the project handbook and will be expanded and disseminated with posters, posters, brochures, web sites and eTwinning tools, all results; and all results will be uploaded to the Erasmus + Project Results Platfrom.
Considering the long-term benefits of the activities to be carried out in children who need special education; the aim of the project is to develop positive self-concept, social competence, development of motor skills, physical and motor fitness, free time skills, tension elimination, game skills and creative expressions. In this context, our aim is to support our core skills, competencies and criteria through collaborative and holistic approaches with our partners in the entegration of these students tothe school life and society, and to balance the improvement of quality in international dimensions. In addition, the participant teachers will not only make positive contributions to the individuals with special needs in the field of teaching with the factors such as knowledge-experience-cultural and linguistic acquisition-professional development, and will also provide inspiration and guidance to the organization and external stakeholders. It will be ensured that disadvantaged individuals will be happy by discovering themselves with art without being isolated from the educational life, integrating them with the society, adopting them with their studies and taking advantage of the equal opportunity of education.
