Project Summary

This two-year project of Strategic Partnerships in Adult Education, entitled and at the same time the theme “Art Therapy – A Way of Social Inclusion”, was a constructive attempt to develop content and solutions in the practice of innovative therapy, education, and social action, and aimed at the social development of persons, dynamics of interpersonal relationships, inter-subjective understanding, based on therapeutic and artistic practices.

This project involved officially 21 experts who were mobile to Italy, Spain, and Germany, where courses in counseling, art therapy, bioenergetics, dance, theatre, gestalt therapy, psychodrama, modern and African dance, improvisation techniques, performing arts studies, choreography and video story telling offered.

In addition, innovative methods of teaching and working in public networks have been developed in order to achieve closer cooperation with local, regional and national institutions and to promote art therapy as an official form of intervention. This comparison resulted in the mutual acquisition of innovative practice, knowledge and cross-cutting competencies in the fields of education, communication, and diffusion, in which all partners had different levels of experience and a subject-specific contribution.

Inter-generational, inter-personally inter-esthetical and inter-cultural and with regard to people, migrants, refugees, single mothers, the disabled, the poor, the marginalized under the supervision of artists, psychologists, occupational therapists. They all experienced and learned the practice of art and therapy as a working tool to enrich and further develop each other, with the aim of developing innovative working tools to help people with educational disadvantages and/or socially vulnerable people in marginal life situations, some of which are threatened by social exclusion and guide them towards a path/place/space back into our society.
