Project Summary

The name of this venture is connected with conscious participation in culture: information and advertising texts; theater performances, films, radio plays and radio programs, TV programs, radio, television and Internet advertising, comic books, iconic messages, sung poetry. The cultural dimension of this activity will also be emphasized by meetings with theater actors, journalists, magazine editors, or with young people who deal with graffiti; going to the cinema, theater, television,
Center of Scenography, etc .; demonstration of own skills during cultural ceremonies.

The assumption of the project is therefore to develop students’ linguistic skills, arouse curiosity towards other cultures and a sense of belonging to the European community and implement the idea of autonomous learning of a foreign language. The project is also designed to strengthen students’ faith in their own language and motivation to learn languages. It is focused primarily on practical activities, participation in the cultural life of the school and the local environment as well as on the activity and involvement of students.

The project “Be an Artist to Save the Planet” (BASP) aims at the achievement of five main objectives:
1) To arise people’s consciousness around the importance of taking care of the planet
2) To develop students’ artistic skills so that they can be able to express protest or worry around the environmental issues through different artistic channels: drama, video advertisements, graffiti, poetry, songs and dances.
3) Improve English language skills concerning the conveying of messages, both oral and written ones
4) Widen the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) knowledge by using 2.0 tools
5) Promote cultural openness towards Europe, respect, team work skills, positive values to move within the European society such as responsibility, tolerance, honesty.

These objectives have been discussed and eventually agreed after having passed a SWOT questionnaire (questionnaire to see the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) to the Educative Community of each of the school members in the Erasmus+ project.

Generally speaking, we as leader members of this project, have decided that the main priority of this project is to promote a comprehensive approach in the learning-teaching process. The horizontal objective is to arise consciousness about climate and ecological issues and to develop ICT skills in our students and the other members of the educative community.

Poland is the coordinator of this project. The partner schools come from Turkey, Spain and Italy.
All schools have got common tasks and specific tasks. As for the tasks, there will be two types of tasks: the ones carried out within each school and the ones carried out in the mobilities.

Tasks done within schools trigger the knowledge around the Environment topic by doing an on-line research, meeting experts on topic, watching films and doing research around their neighbourhoods. Here the students aged between 12 and 14 years old will be distributed in groups within the class. These groups will use the e-Twinning platform to post the results of their investigations. Also, activities and events in each school will be design to involve and alow participation and colaboration from the rest of the students as well as their families and other local entities.

Tasks done in the mobilities will involve some preparatory tasks on the e-Twinning platform with international groups aged between 12 and 14 years old and tasks performed in the schools of the host country. In each country, the students will coordinate to put into practice the implementation of the final product: a play, a song, poetry recital, videos and a graffiti.

Assessment instruments will be used before, during and after the implementation of the project. They will include grids with indicators, questionnaires, questions through Kahoots and the writing of a diary every 15 days. The impact on our school communities, neighbourhoods and other countries will include actions to be done to protect the environment and to be carried out throughout years.

The diffusion of the project will be done through social nets, web page of the school using the informative boards in the halls of the schools, holding meetings with parents, the rest of teachers, personal staff and local entities.
