Project Summary

Be aware of the signs of time- create a new way of education for our future
Topics like climate protection, health, digitalization and connections way across the borders of a country move our world. Everyone gets signs and should notice them to get a forward-looking and future-proof way of education for the for- our children.
Current topics like:
• Health competence
• Digital education
• Protection of climate and environment
• European convictions
will be brought together in different projects in classes. These very important topcis represent the focus for a future-proof way of education in Europe and are already processed by partner schools. These topics that are content in different European countries will be integrated in every school level and are educated interdisciplinary. Dependent on country specific resources, new ideas for classes and methods will be developed und processed together. Still the use of digital media and digital education will always be on focus.
A pilot project, which is conducted together with the HAK Liezen: “Digital Business and Business Coaching” will be presented in the partner schools. HAK pupils and elementary school students work together. Trade routes (import and export) of domestic companies with robotic vehicles are recreated. These workshops should be coordinated with the respective country of the partner schools.
The use of “Calliope” is ideal for joint projects and inventor workshops. From flood alarm systems for hydropower turbines to energy projects, there are no limits to inventiveness and creativity. Finished prototypes can be compared and presented by the students via videoconference and at school visits. The children not only deal with the problem, the solution and the best possible material, but also with the programming of single-board computers and connected water sensors. Programming in the classroom is used integratively as a means to an end: let it be to train logical thinking or, as in this case, to be able to implement concrete solutions in a digital world.
The health of our children is a requirement for successful learning. Especially in a digital, rapidly changing world, it is important to bring the necessary health skills to make appropriate decisions in everyday life that serve well-being, health. Proper handling of digital media is just as important as exercise and sports, a healthy diet and environmentally conscious behavior.
Goal for this project
The aim is to bring together different topics, in transnational teaching projects for a future-oriented educational path.
The project serves students and teachers to broaden their own horizons. With the help of innovative teaching methods, the topics are developed in a curriculum form, processed sustainably and exchanged in content with the partner schools.
Implementation
Digital teaching aids such as Bee Bots, Lego WeDo and Calliope are used for specific topics. They promote creativity and illustrate content better. Single-board computers are used for inventor projects in energy and the environment. Also, in all participating schools with single-board computers, students can program their own pedometer. Steps are taken together to motivate people to exercise, which is, of course, good for their health. The steps are converted into kilometers and meters. On a map of Europe, it will be shown symbolically, how far we have approached until the end of the project period.
The theme of “Healthy Eating” compares and tests culinary traditional dishes and cooking recipes of the various partner countries. The children should be offered various opportunities in projects in order to gain the ability to make appropriate decisions about their health in everyday life. Workshops on the subject of addiction prevention are conducted and discussed by the school doctors via videoconference with the pupils of all partner institutions. Further workshops and lessons including Safer Internet will be processed in videoconferencing sessions with students and experts.
In projects with the topic of water and environment, inventor workshops will be created in schools. Then children should present their prototypes in videoconferences and during mutual school visits.
All topics, workshops and activities are diligently collected, like reports, stories and instructions from all participating institutions and will be put on a common learning platform. School children across the Academy, sort the contents and create a layout for a jointly designed book for a future-oriented Europe from a child’s perspective.
