Project Summary
BE MORE Leadership Programme is an international cooperation project and its core goal is to develop the youth and student organisations of our networks. This will be done in the project in two ways: by cooperation and sharing experiences and creating an online course for youth organisation leaders.
There are a lot of organisations who develop leadership skills in youngsters among Europe. From the Estonian perspective, we see that there is not a lot of cooperation with neither Estonian nor European colleagues on this activity. We believe that if there would be more exchange of practices in training youth leaders, the education we could offer would be even better. Another thing we see is that even if there is a lot of material and courses on management and leadership, there isn’t any relevant for youth organisations.
Our objectives were to create a web e-course on youth organisation leadership with partners that we could use in our existing youth development programmes.
The e-course was targeted for youth organisation leaders so that they would all have basic knowledge and skills in organisation management. These objective were met – we created four e-courses to the platform BE MORE. Community http://bemore.community, organised two dissemination events and promoted in our different events and programmes and also on social media.
We reached 82 young people with our two dissemination events, the site has about 500 separate visits from all over Europe every month and every course has over 170 enrolled students. The feedback from young people has been positive and everyone has said it is all useful material. This result didn’t reach the set results due to the fact that the project financing period was cut a year shorter.
We created the e-courses from October 2018 to July 2019 and launched them by the end of July 2019. From July to February 2020 the partners have promoted the courses in their events, programmes and social media. Üliõpilaskonna Sihtasutus organised a bigger promotion event in August 2019 as the Year Conference meeting for student organisations in Tartu, where participants were introduced to the courses with workshops which tackled the BE MORE. Community lesson topics. The partner Landesjugendring Baden-Württermberg held a dissemination event in January 2020 as a conference for young people that tackled also leadership topics and introduced the courses.
The courses and BE MORE. Community website has proved to be useful and attractive to youth organisations, an important tool to develop (or also create) a youth organisation, so the partners are willing to continute the cooperation with creating more e-course with next projects.
