Project Summary
Stawbale Houses are very ecologic: Straw is available regionally almost everywhere and its use is not in conflict with the use of land for food production. Straw will save CO2 and therefore helps building carbon-neutral buildings. The proper and qualitative soild use of strawbales in building – in conjunction with other building materials and by obaying building regulations – has to be learned. During the last years both in craftmanship as well as in training for strawbale building there have been major successes. In this process the collaboration of strawbale building associations and training organisations in EU-funded projects have played a major role.
In this project StawBuildPro the four partners (BiWeNa, Germany; CNCP Feuillette, France; ASBN, Austria and ArTUR, Slowenia) developed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as intellectual outcome. This regulates the mutual recognition of testified training results from other partners. It is based on the description of learning outcomes with levels, methods of testification and criteria – all based on the ECVET system.
This system is the basis for the future mutual recognition of learning outcomes of strawbale building trainings. Advanced education for strawbale building will be further europenized.
The testification of participants – based on the system developed – was tested and subject to review.
On a conference for multiplyers in strawbale building and craft in order the outcomes of the project were presented and discussed as part of the dissemination activities.
By the end of the project the MoU was signed by the national strawbale building associations in the partner countries and also by the European Strawbale Building Association. Other national associations wiill follow. The sustainability of the system is therefore secured.
