Project Summary

Two special schools for mental handicapped children – in Izmir and Bochum – would like to give the pupils a first insight into the actual work of a café by opening / expanding their student cafés. Neighboring visitors, parents, residents of neighboring dormitories regularly come to the “Café Everyone” to be fascinated by homemade treats from students. A place of neighborly get-together and exchange is created as well as a real work field in which the students can test themselves in preparation for the upcoming world of work. The pupils and teachers of both schools can provide advice and counsel about design ideas and offered food and drinks, as well as organization and possible difficulties, in order to finally present their cafés to each other.
