Project Summary
Our project is aimed at creating in-depth awareness about the climate change and to gather 10 simple and practical solutions towards sustainable living. At the same time, we will develop a platform for eLearning where all the activities and results of the project will be uploaded and made available as OER.
Our project has started from the following realities:
-sustainable living is a “must” for people of all ages, that is why we decided to involve all levels of education: preschool, primary, secondary, high-school, university and adults
– “action IS awareness, but awareness IS NOT action”, that’s why we will further gather and put into practice 10 simple ways to ACT for the environment
To this end, the RJ4All International Institute brought together a strategic partnership of 4 schools from 4 Erasmus+ countries (one vocational art school with students aged between 6-18 from Romania, one high-school from Turkey, one school from Portugal with students aged 6-18, a VET school from France) and an IT expert NGO (Inercia Digital, ES) to deliver multiple Erasmus+ Horizontal and sectorial priorities. The project will also be formally supported by Eruditus international language school for adults who is based in Switzerland and will act as an associated partner funded by the Swiss agency.
The project is intended to be carried out for 2 years, from September 2020 till August 2022. During the first project year, we will develop activities, such as:
-creating the educational E-platform which will consist in an ICT system exploiting the emerging “network effect”, joining online social media and the creation of shared knowledge and data from real environment, with integrated app for the research and management of information and a tool to interconnect, exchange information and experiences and express users views and ideas about the project topic
-“100 seconds till midnight”, aimed at raising awareness by research on environmental situation; its findings will be used to create the „GLocal” digital booklet
-„10 GLocal” digital leaflet gathering 10 most useful and practical solutions to help the environment
-short video clips to promote the ‘GLocal’ findings and solutions internationally.
During the second project year, we will:
-prepare and organise fashion shows and Flea markets in order to raise awareness on negative effects of fashion industry on the environment and the alternative of reducing overconsumption by giving old clothes a new „face”
-create the ‘GLocal’ calendar
-join or write an online petition which campaigns for environmental protection.
The major project results will be:
-the „GLocal” digital booklet and leaflet, by means of which we will promote the research findings based on scientific information from reliable sources on climate change and 10 most useful and practical solutions to help the environment, respectively
– short video ads meant to raise participants’ awareness on actual environmental situation
-the ‘GLocal’ calendar presenting 10 simple way of fighting against climate change and gathering different results of project activities (paintings/drawings/caricatures, photos of objects created from re-used materials etc.)
-the ‘GLocal’ best practice brochure (examples of best practices for integrating environmental protection)
-the educational E-platform
There will organised 4 LTTs and a multiplier event.
For a good project management and implementation there will be organized 2 TPMs, one at the beginning of each year of the project.
Impact:
-Participants of all ages are expected to become more aware of the actual environmental situation and especially of the direct influence of human actions on our environment along with understanding and adopting a sustainable living; to adopt a more sustainable living by using some of the ‘10 GLocal’ solutions offered during the second year of the project;
– The participating institutions are expected to become an example of environmental-friendly organisation, not least by initiating future projects on sustainable living;
-The local community of each partner institution is expected to help their members become aware of the present environmental situation and choose to change their lifestyle towards sustainable living; to become internationally known; to experience an increase of the number of contacts among European countries which might become future partners in future partnerships;.
Monitoring and evaluation will be done at regular intervals with the help of questionnaires, interviews, and periodical reports.
