Project Summary

With our project, we aim to bring into the educational system innovative pedagogical practices and boost learning and application of technology and tools is provides. All the methodologies we expect to produce will be ICT-based and promote the extensive use of techniques of non-formal education (both for adults and kids).

Together with our partners, we will tailor digital competences of educators, citizens and organisations and innovate in creating new teaching tools, materials and learning software.

In frames of this project, we intend to train adults and young adults (existing school teachers and the ones who want to become one) to update their digital and pedagogical skills. We will use partly the practices and pieces of knowledge we already have tested plus, what is most important, we will develop new teaching materials, educational software and tools. That is why we are applying for innovation.

The primary beneficiaries of our project are, as mentioned above, the existing school teachers of Portugal and some EU countries and young adults who work in the field of training. This made us choose two additional priorities:

ADULT EDUCATION: Supporting the setting up of and access to upskilling pathways

HORIZONTAL: Supporting educators, youth workers, educational leaders and support staff.

With this KA2 project, we aim to upskill digital and computer competences and pedagogical skills of teachers and educators to prepare Portuguese and European society to live successfully and harmoniously in this innovative digital era. The objectives of our project are:

To create a study program for adults (teachers, educators and support personnel) , which tackles computational thinking, computer science, computer programming, computer systems, technological and pedagogical skills.

To create a whole new generation of teachers who will train kids with the new school subject called “computation”.

To challenge the existing educational system in Portugal and the EU and improve it with innovative and inclusive methods of education.

To address the urgent need of modern society to be more aware of technology and digitalisation by producing innovative educational and informational materials.

To facilitate intercultural dialogue and exchange of positive pedagogical practices.

To boost social inclusion and gender equality.

To promote the opportunities of Erasmus+ Program.

We have several target groups:

people directly involved in the implementation of this project;

school teachers and educators, who want to become promoters of the new subject “computation”;

European society (kids, youngsters and their families);

educational structures (private and public);

The main beneficiaries are direct participants of the project (school teachers and educators based in Portugal and two partner countries). They have an urgent need to upgrade and upskill their digital competences, plus to learn about new inclusive and creative teaching methods. Another need they have is to stay active players in the labour market, which is being intensively changing. With our project, we will satisfy and exceed those needs.

We are carrying this project between three countries – Portugal, United Kingdom and Denmark. Each partner brings unique value to the project: experience and innovative ideas. All together we will achieve better and more vibrant results. Implementing our activities transnationally will create more awareness about the topic of the project and Erasmus+ Program.
