Project Summary

“ENABLE: European Network Against Bullying in Learning and Leisure Environment” is a project supported by four European secondary schools born from the report made by educational bodies on the school climate published in 2017 indicating that the school climate deteriorates over the course of schooling. This is why the eTwinning project carried out by two of us in 2017-2018 (France and the Czech Republic) and which allowed a real collaboration and a pedagogical added-value could be reinvested, extended to two other partner countries, and developed as part of an Erasmus + project. Le collège Antoine Delafont in Montmoreau (France) is the project leader and its partners:
– Agrupamento de Escolas, Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso (Portugal)
– Istituto Comprensivo Marco Polo, Viani (Italie)
– Zakladni skola T. G. Masaryka, Kutna Hora, (République Tchèque)
We have chosen to engage in the fight against and prevention of school bullying because it is a real scourge that is damaging the school climate we all faced in each of our schools.
The establishment of this partnership promotes an exchange of practices between teachers. It will create common pedagogical and didactic tools and work to pool and optimize resources, skills and experiences. Using the eTwinning site will facilitate those exchanges.
The project is part of these objectives by setting up motivating and rewarding activities to fight against school bullying: during the first year, the creation of a survey taking stock of each country, the edition of a dictionary gathering and defining terms related to harassment, role plays for students staging situations of harassment and the resulting reactions, the production of various media (songs, comics, board games , videos) are all tools that will allow each student to explore his creative potential and find his place in the project. During the 2nd year, a group of peer supporters with its experience gained during the first year, will be set up and will aim to get directly involved in the resolution of conflict situations within its institution but more broadly within the European network “European Network Against Bullying”.
This project will bring together 104 students from 12 to 15 years old. 13 students with disabilities will be included in this project. The vast majority of students are from rural areas. Disability, academic difficulties, economic and geographic barriers are situations that more than half of students face. This project is a way to give meaning to learning by allowing the meeting, the exchange of know-how, and social skills. It will foster students’ cultural openness and facilitate their engagement in common reflection and action going beyond geographical and socio-cultural boundaries, and will enable them to grow up and become “world citizens”.
This project is organized around several actions and 4 meetings:
-ACTION 1 => networking: collaboration, exchange of ideas, work meetings, coordination with teachers via video-conference (Twinspace), and creation of a code of good conduct on the internet (France) by students.
-ACTION 2 => State of play by students: creation of a common questionnaire to survey their friends about the school climate (insults, fights, arguments …) (Czech Republic); implementation of this questionnaire, analysis, presentation and comparison of the results of this survey (all countries).
=> MEETING 1: November 2019, Viareggio, Italy

-ACTION 3 => What is bullying? Creation of a common dictionary in English, creation of a campaign video spot against harassment in 4 languages.
=> MEETING 2: May 2020, Kutna Hora, Czech Republic

-ACTION 4 => Creation of a group of anti-harassment peer supporters in the partner institutions and creation by this group of a guide to train new mediators.
-MOBILITY 3: November 2020, Amarante, Portugal

-ACTION 5 => Monitoring, project evaluation and communication: Steering committees for the monitoring of the project by each of the partners: Head of school, manager and coordinator – Intermediate evaluation of the project (Portugal) and Final evaluation (Italy) corresponding to the initial evaluation – Communication on the project, visibility and sustainability of the project: proposal of common tools made by the students (dictionary, videos, training guide for anti-harassment peer supporters …) to secondary and primary schools, to official teaching sites of each country, the sites of the implied schools + edition and distribution of the training guide of the peer supporters.
-MOBILITY 4: May 2021, Montmoreau Saint-Cybard, France.
