Project Summary

CONTEXT/BACKGROUND OF PROJECT
As VET schools we should be able to offer motivating and meaningful learning paths for all students with totally different backgrounds, experiences, know-how and dreams. At the same time society is digitalizing and we should find our unique ways of using eLearning in VET and learn to use it as there are big differences between schools. All this has to be done with less money than before due to VET budget cuts in many countries. In this project we will find solutions to these and some other challenges.

OBJECTIVES
STUDENTS (INCL. STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS)
1) with different backgrounds learn VET and life-learning skills and study individually customized part of VET degree by establishing and running sustainable startup company in internationally mixed group of 4 students (FI, DE, NL, SP), learning flexibly in 3 intl learning environments (company, school, eKampus), and selling their products (incl. webstore)
2) will be coached by unique company advisor and international teacher
3) in host countries are able to participate (no mobilities)
REAL COMPANIES
4) coach students’ sustainable startups and learn coaching skills
5) get students to learn in their companies
TEACHERS
6) learn new mindset to work as supporting coach and new know-how and skills how to customize students’ learning paths and how to coach intl students in 3 learning environments (school, company, eKampus) (using service design tools)
7) in host countries are able to participate (no mobilities)
SCHOOLS
8) get new service designed way and know-how to custom studies (way of learning/suitable learning environments)
9) participating students graduate on time and become employed
VOCATIONAL EDUCATION IN GENERAL
10) improve the brand of vocational education in Europe

Schools: MERCURIA (FI), Alfa-college (NL), Collegi Badalones (SP), Louis Schroeder Schule (DE)
Companies: Heavenlinen (FI), Maiham (FI), Fab Lab Bcn (SP), Een paar ontwerpers (NL), 4your Office (DE), Skills Finland (FI)

ACTIVITIES
Group 1: Workshop 1 (FI), WS 2 (NL), WS 3 (DE) – 16 students + 4 teachers + 4-5 companies
Group 2: Workshop 1 (DE), WS 2 (SP), WS 3 (FI) – 16 students + 4 teachers + 4-5 companies
Skills Finland competition 5/2021 – 4 students + 4 teachers
4 weeks work placements – 8 students
A lot of work in eKampus between workshops.

RESULTS AND IMPACTS
RESULT 1: CREATIVE MINDS LEARNING MODEL FOR ALL KIND OF STUDENTS TO LEARN INDIVIDUALLY CUSTOMIZED PART OF VET DEGREE BY BEING INTERNATIONAL SUSTAINABLY ORIENTED ENTREPRENEUR
1.1. 8 INTERNATIONAL SUSTAINABLY ORIENTED STARTUPS WILL BE ESTABLISHED
1.2. LEARNING MATERIAL TO LEARN SUSTAINABLE ENTREPRENEURSHIP WILL BE PUBLISHED
1.3. SCHOOLS GET NEW DIGITAL VET SPESIFIED PEDAGOGICAL TOOLS FOR THEIR USE

RESULT 2: CREATIVE MINDS COACH ACADEMY PEDAGOGICAL MODEL FOR TEACHERS TO LEARN HOW TO CUSTOMIZE STUDENTS’ LEARNING PATH AND HOW TO WORK AS A COACH IN 3 INTERNATIONAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS (school, company, eKampus)
2.1. SCHOOLS GET NEW KNOW-HOW TO CUSTOMIZE STUDENTS’ PATHS AND UTILIZE FLEXIBLY DIFFERENT LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS

IMPACTS
STUDENTS – 32 students (incl. with special needs) will study approx. 60 cp (total 32×60=1920cp) with this model + approx. 100 host school students
– are able to establish and run a company in intl market and webstore
– are motivated and learn flexibly in individually customized learning path (what/where to study).
– improve international working, life learning and digital skills
– learn to understand themselves as a learner.
– learn sustainability “by accident” with sustainable startup
– from host country learn also (no mobilities)
– graduate on time and become employed with excellent vocational and life-long learning skills.

COMPANIES
– learn coaching skills and get students to learn in their companies
– find new ways to cooperate with schools

TEACHERS
– learn new mindset and and skills to customize students’ learning paths and to coach intl students in 3 learning environments (school, company, eKampus) (using service design tools)
– from host country learn also (no mobilities)
– improve significantly language and international skills

SCHOOLS
– get new learning material and ways to use eKampus as VET spesified learning environment (digitalization)
– get new model and know-how&skills to custom studies
– get new cooperation ways with companies
– understand that economically sustainably we can offer even better learning outcomes

VOCATIONAL EDUCATION IN GENERAL
– open resource of 2 new learning models (incl. learning material and tools)
– improve the brand of VET in Europe.

LONGER TERM BENEFITS
– schools have know-how to customize students learning paths and to operate in 3 different learning environments
– supports sustainable education (economically, environmentally, socially)
– established startups will continue after the project
– so-operation with companies increases in the future
– schools get new digital VET specified tools
