Project Summary

The idea motivating and uniting the project partners is the intention to create a promotional album presenting various aspects of cultural heritage of their countries and particularly their regions and to promote them internationally. By working on this idea partners will achieve their second aim, which is increasing the students’ interest in learning foreign languages with particular focus on English as well as increasing and developing the interest in the use of ICTs and modern technologies. In this way partners intend to facilitate their students further educational and professional chances on the labour market.
Partners in this project observe similar needs (described in partners selection section) and have proper expertise or are able to involve external experts to achieve the project aims.
The project will teach students how to apply modern technologies related to photography and photos edition in a practical way to promote the beauty and cultural heritage of their own and partner countries’ regions and allow to observe various cultural traditions and behaviours. Most of project work, will be done in English locally and its effects will be shared during mobilities which could further be improved as a result of LTTs with experts. The project is divided into six stages, each dealing with concrete steps of education and preparation of materials for the mentioned album as well as with national / regional cultural heritage of host countries.
1 Photography basics. Heritage of Romania
2 Photo taking training. Heritage of Lithuania
3 Photo editing. Heritage of Sweden
4 Descriptions in the album. Heritage of Italy
5 Album edition. Heritage of Poland
6 Album – the final product. Heritage of Turkey
Those activities are supposed to combine elements of cultural heritage (traditions, arts, architecture, nature) taught in an involving way gaining high interest of the project participants by also involving the use of ICTs and modern tools. There is no better way than to organise such activities on an international level allowing to experience, compare the cultures, save images snapped by young people having different attitudes and various ideas about culture. The use of editorial software in English will also be a kind of motivation to learning this language and students will notice the importance of this language for their communication purposes and future professional careers. It is obvious that it is also the language of electronics (software, devices naming etc.) and is the most common language for communication in present world. The knowledge of cultural heritage and skills acquired within the project are expected to meaningfully influence the students’ educational choices in the future as well as their career opportunities, which will be reinforced by the Europass Mobility certificates issued after every project mobility.
The final product will be an album divided into 6 sections (by countries), which can easily be separated and developed into national versions in case partners or local authorities wanted to have their individual versions.
As a result partners are sure to achieve their aims listed below by September 2022:
– to develop their students motivation, interest and achievements in learning foreign languages with particular focus on English for 200 students
– to reinforce the development of competences in the field of ICTs, cultural awarness and creativity for 200 students
– to promote cultural heritage of the 6 partner countries and regions
– to improve and promote the partner schools’ educational offer and curricula, and increase their importance in local environments.
The project tiltle “Cultural Heritage Album RAW Makers” and its acronym CHARM reflect the project idea. The word RAW can be understood literally and relate to inexperienced students, but it is also an editable file format in photography (purposelu spelled with capital leters here), which will surely be used in the project during the album creation. The effect and the project final product is expected to “charm” its recipients. The motivation to achieve this aim is also externally strenghtened as some partners are encouraged to develop the album by their local authorities wishing to promote their regions in their countries and abroad.
