Project Summary
The project general idea is to create promotional international videos showing the beauty of the partnership regions and their cultural heritage.
The project will teach students how to apply modern technologies related to video making and editing, in a practical way, to promote the beauty and cultural heritage of their own and partner countries’ regions and allow to observe various cultural traditions and behaviours. The local project work, always done in English, will see its effects shared during mobilities and further improved as a result of LTTs with experts. The project is divided into six stages, each dealing with concrete steps of education and preparation of materials for the mentioned video as well as with national/regional cultural heritage of host countries.
1 Basics of video making. The script. Cultural heritage of Italy.
2 Video recording – practical sides. Cultural heritage of Spain.
3 Movie editing. Cultural heritage of Portugal
4 Sound and narrative part in a movie. Cultural heritage of Romania.
5 Movie editing and effects. Cultural heritage of Turkey.
6 Video presentation. Cultural heritage of Poland
Those activities are supposed to combine elements of cultural heritage (traditions, arts, architecture, nature) taught in an involving way gaining higher interest of participants also involving the use of ICTs and modern tools, always very attractive to teenagers. Such activities, on an international level, will allow to compare cultures, to have different attitudes and various ideas about culture, everything seen through young eyes. The use of specific software in English will be a further impulse to learn this language and students will notice the importance of English for their communication purposes and future professional careers. It is obvious that it is also the language of electronics (software, devices naming etc.) and is the most common language for communication in present world.
The final product will be a video divided into 6 sections (by countries), which can easily be separated and developed into national versions in case partners or local authorities wanted to have their individual versions.
Partners have some external motivation to develop the video as they also are encouraged to do so by their schools and local authorities which will use it as promotional material.
They have defined their objectives, which are directly linked with the selected priorities.
– to develop students’ motivation, interest and achievements in learning foreign languages with particular focus on English for 200 students
– to reinforce the development of key competences in the field of ICTs with particular focus on video making and editing for 200 students
– to increase cultural awarness and creativity for 200 students
– to promote cultural heritage of the 6 partner countries and regions on regional, national and international levels
In order achieve them partners will use some commonly agreed video editing software, which will reinforce the development of key competences in fields such as ICTs, foreign languages, cultural awareness and creativity. This will also reinforce the development of competences and pedagogy of the teachers involved. Through the various steps of the project, partners will be developing their students’ knowledge and skills and create the project products, which are promotional exhibitions and leaflets of cultural heritage of the partner countries and the cultural heritage video, which will show heritages seen through the eyes of young people.
The knowledge of cultural heritage and skills acquired within the project are expected to meaningfully influence the students’ educational choices in the future as well as their career opportunities, which will be reinforced by the Europass Mobility certificates issued after every project mobility.
The recent situation related to COVID-19 may even strengthen it and require more involvement of virtual work and exchanges with the use of eTwinning and other ICT tools, which will increase both the students skills and the teachers pedagogies in all areas covered by the project.
