Project Summary
Mainly students and teachers will participate in the project. We’ll also involve parents and local cultural and historical organizations.Students participating in the project will be 10-15 years old.We chose this age range because all partner schools have students at this age and it’ll be easier for them to collaborate. They’ll be the main target group of the project and most of the planned activities.Students who don’t want to participate in LTTA will be involved in local and blended activities. We plan to involve the largest group of students, even 100 people per school.Participants with fewer opportunities will also be involved in the project e.g.participants facing situations that make their participation more difficult. The main goals of the project are to learn about the culture, tradition, history and customs of other European countries through active participation in the project, international cooperation, direct contact with students, teachers and people from other countries.Students will compare cultures and traditions and look for cultural similarities and differences between partner countries. The objectives to reach through our project in general are:
Being aware of the Cultural heritage of Europe
Having positive human characteristics
Improving the Citizenship skills of participants
Decreasing Social exclusion and
Increasing Social Inclusion and Cohesion
Meeting and Learning about new Cultures,Traditions,Languages,History and Communities
The project will affect local culture and history institutions (e.g. museums and others). We’ll cooperate with institutions dealing with topics related to our project and local authorities.
The project is using eTwinning to work together before, during and after the project activities and in combination with blended mobility. We have designed six LTTA to fulfill a multitude of tasks:research, data processing, awareness campaigns.Modern pedagogical interactive and student-centered approaches will be applied. They will be enriched and developed through international experience. Both English (the communication language of the project)and ICT are used extensively.
The main concept of the project is to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical behavior.Multi-tasks project activities based on interdisciplinary cooperation combine:research, individual study, data proceeding, making presentations, writing articles, training students to be independent learners with lifelong learning attitude motivating activities related to different social and public topics producing multilevel effects:active position, responsibility towards culture, traditions, history and community, understanding to the others, one’s own development boosting educational, mental and physical outcomes.
Methodology will include cross-curricular,context-based learning,cooperative learning,problem solving,knowing how,learning by doing/by teaching,social skills.Participants will enhance communication,social&emotional learning,entrepreneurial&social skills,volunteering&cultural education,peer/team work,self assessment.
The methodology is aimed at development of students’ social&intercultural competences, providing real communication, real situations, discussions, exploring neighborhood during accommodation in familiesThey’ll appreciate, compare similarities&difference among the partner countries promoting intercultural awareness&supporting sense of friendship among children from different European countries.Understand that spending time with older adults will be a significant experience for improving their social skills.Teachers will very actively plan teaching and learning activities to achieve project results.During LTTA they will have a great opportunity for professional development. They’ll also be the target group of local and virtual activities. The other teachers will help to organize local activities and will be a support to teachers implementing the project.Parents will be invited to the dissemination events.During each parents’ meeting at schools, they will be informed about project activities and results. Before hosting visitors or sending their students, parents will be informed about the cultures, traditions, food, religion of visitors and they will be invited to participate in local activities. Thanks to the project, the schools will establish closer cooperation with organizations promoting our cultures and traditions, and with authorities.Schools will also establish closer cooperation with parents and the local community during local activities. The schools will gain prestige in the local environment through the implementation of an international project. Results:
