Project Summary
This project included as well as short term mobilites and long term mobilities. Students from the BG Tanzenberg and the partnerschool IIS Giordano Bruno in Perugia, Italy could either attend the other school for a certain period up to two months on their own, or could visit the other country within a group journey, which lasted one week.
As the teachers wanted that the students got to know each other quite quickly we decided on various activities and started with giving different topics (all regarding our curriculum) and the students’ goal was to create interesting or/and funny videos in which they dealt with the topic. Additionally, also fotos were taken that showed specific aspects of the given topic. At the end a selection of the fotos and videos were uploaded on our created website: https://erasmusplustanzenbergperugia.wordpress.com. To secure the dissemination of the videos also during teacher seminars the videos were shown and can still be downloaded from a website.
Another focus of our exchange was to increase the foreign language competences. This aim was quite easily reached during the longer periods at the partner school, where our students attended classes in the foreign language and additionally were taught in the foreign language by natives in additional lessons.
One more important aspect was to get to know a new culture. As the students were placed within host family this goal was reached easily, as they could understand the way of life of a family in the foreign country. For the students that stayed for one week only a special programme was organised so that they could see Austrian culture, including tasting our lovely food. Reciprocally, when Austrian students went down to Perugia, they could taste lovely Italian food and got to know their culture and also traditions. In Perugia itself we could get to know several Christmas traditions.
Finally, with the help of this project we can call many of our students real European citizens. They got to know how important it is to live in a United Europe which offers various opportunities. As they could experience one of these opportunities they hopefully will go abroad in their future again.
