Project Summary
The European project DECIDE results from the existing partnerships between Collège Ferdinand Dubreuil and Collexio Ma Inmaculada on the one hand, and Lycée Geneviève Vincent, a sectoral high school for the former, on the other hand, and the willingness of the teams to cooperate within an interdisciplinary project of binational dimension in order to open up internationally.
For two years, the European project DECIDE will focus on the following theme : BECOMING WELL-INFORMED CITIZENS THANKS TO EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES.
It will serve as a framework for debates ans short theatre plays designed, written and performed by our pupils.
Each year, 36 students aged 13-14 ( academic or vocational 3rd of 4th year secondary school students from France/2nd year from Spain) will be selected among students with fewer opportunities enrolled in the after-school clubs available in our three schools. Moreover, 6 adults will take part in in-training meetings before and after the transnational meetings involving pupils with the purpose of supporting them better .
The objectives of this binational partnership project are threefold as they aim to gaining more social mixity and gender parity thanks to enhanced citizenship so as to achieve better school attendance for students with fewer opportunities thanks to extra-curricular and innovative after-school activities.
The partnership involves two French local secondary public schools – one junior and one high school – located in alandlocked rural working area in central France, and a private school complex providing preschhol, primary and secondary academic education. This third school is located on the Atlantic shore in the north-east of Spain, in a better-off economic and social background.
All three schools enrol gender-mixed student population.
We will include French ans Spanish “satellite partners”in our project who will meet our mobility beneficiaries in the preparation phase, during the binational meetings, then during dissemination an outcomes phases after transnational mobilities They arel all involved in formal and informal learning. T hey will help us with the students by teaching them and their trainers new working methods, as well as new knockledges. Hence, they will all gain extra social skills.
We wish all the participants in this project can gain more open-mindedness, autonomy, and self-confidence which will create more employability as far as the pupils are concerned.
On top of that, the participants will improve their communication skills in their mother tongue as well as in the foreign languages which they study at school – French, Spanish and English, they will feel more mobile.
Their learning outcomes in all these fields will be assessed by EUROPASS, road safety and first-aid certificates.
The outcomes of all the activities performed in both countries during the meetings, between partners, and during preparation phases will serve for slideshows, photo reports, and short films. These outputs will be shown to the students’ families and the public during the schools’ open days, or schools’ special nights, as well as uploaded to various websites.
In the long term, this project will strengthen the links between the three schools and open up new cooperation perspectives for other projects involving the current satellite partners or others.
