Project Summary
The project aimed at integrating the generations of teenagers and their parents and grandparents through engaging them in common education. Our students were experts for the elder people in the topic of ICT. On the other hand, student’s parents and grandparents shared the knowledge and experience by presenting for example old recipes, tips for different everyday situations. We also payed attention to the topic of safe digital devices usage. The participating schools came up with new methods for our students to be wise users of digital world. We developed good practices and shared the experiences to show alternative ways of spending their free time. Teenagers as ICT experts sharing their knowledge with their parents and grandparents had a unique occasion to build a connection between generations. We know the project elaborated practical methods and activities which could be used by any other school in Europe.
The main aim of the project was to integrate generations and let them learn and teach. Developing students’ skills concerning proper use of digital devices was also our concern. Students learned about each other’s countries, cities, surrounding, history, heritage, culture etc. They also presented and promoted their own countries by using different applications, social media and mainly eTwinning platform.
Students’ ICT knowledge was improved and was focused on developing social communication and collaboration skills among all the participants of our project.
We started our cooperation on Twinspace and thanks to this project was continued through KA2 strategic partnership. At the beginning students introduced themselves and their countries using different ICT tools. After that they did some research on ICT tools that elder people applied in their lives. Having in mind that young people tend to live in a hurry and they don’t pay attention to priority of spending at least some of their time with other people, we showed them the ways to do that. They met each other through different kinds of online communication and worked together with their teachers on searching different methods for balance in their lives.
Our Twinspace is public, so other schools and students have opportunity to read and learn about all the process of our work, all the methods used for implementation of the topic of the project. All the participants got knowledge of new ICT tools and rediscovered life hacks. As the result of the project our schools have an online book with recipes, a blog with all didactic materials that promote our researches and results of all the work we did.
