Project Summary
This project was a KA2 Strategic Partnership in the field of Adult Education. It has been coordinated by EBAGEM- Engeli olan Bireyler ve Aileleri Gelisim Merkezi Dernegi- from Turkey and the partner organizations were IASIS NGO From Greece, Asociatia pentru Promovarea Egalitatii intre Tineri – ADAPTO from Romania and Zavod za izobraževanje in inkluzijo ODTIZ from Slovenia.
The project was based on peer to peer trainings in adult education and designed on 5 main objectives. The partner organisations have taken the project objectives in consideration in every steps, activities, events and meetings of the projects. These objectives are:
-To raise the Trainings capacities of caregivers of the people with physical and/or mental disability
– To raise the awareness about Disability rights declared by the UN and signed by all EU countries and Turkey.
– To educate/train the family members, particularly mothers, of the people with special needs about Technology usage, Physical activities & Healthy nutrition, self care at home and self esteem.
– to raise the capacity of NGOs which are working directly with people with disabilities and their families about Adult Education Techniques and Methodologies.
– to support the target group about the importance of education inside the family, and provide them support in this process.
In order to achieve the project objectives, many activities have been realised in 4 partnering countries with regard to project Gantt chart. Firstly, researches have been run in all countries and the results reported. After that a manual was prepared for the families of people with disabilities. This manual included tips, definitions and activities on Physical Activity & Healthy Nutrition, IT, Self Confidence and Personal Care. Then multipliers, who implemented the local Trainings to the Mothers / relatives of the People with disabilities, were selected by the Partner organizations among the professional or volunteer staff to participate in LTT activities. In Total 4 LTT activities have been held during the project lifetime. C1 and C2 were thematic Training Courses. C1 was about Physical Activity & Healthy Nutrition and IT literacy and held in Romania; C2 was about Self Esteem and Personal Care which was held in Slovenia. C3 was in Greece and C4 in Turkey with the same concept, which is Adult Education. After the thematic Trainings Courses (C1 and C2), each of the participants have received a second training either in C3 or C4 about methodological aspect of Adult Education. After participating in 2 LTT activities, one Thematic and one on Adult education, the multipliers have implemented Trainings in their Locals.
According to the activities carried out in the project, 3 different target groups have been involved in the project.
– 32 Caregivers participated in 4 LTTA activities in Romania, Slovenia, Greece and Turkey,
– Around 100 mothers/relatives of people with disabilities have participated in local training that have been held in 4 partnering countries.
– Around 250 people, relatives of people with disabilities, representatives of different NGO’s, Public institutions etc, have participated in Multiplier events held in every partnering countries.
Three intellectual outputs were studied in the project.
The first intellectual output was the reports of researches that have been held in 4 countries. Surveys have been applied to the mothers with special kids about Physical Activity & Healthy Nutrition, IT literacy, Self Confidence and Personal Care and the results were reported at National Level. Romanian partner has prepared templates for research topics. These National Reports were then combined into a single Report which has been shared in social media and partner organizations’ webpages , as well as uploaded on Erasmus+ Project Results Platform.
In the second intellectual output; A training manual for trainers and multipliers has been prepared about how to train Mothers / relatives. Greek partner was the leader of the output. This manual involved specific tools, workshops, and good practices. This manual has been also shared in social media and partner organizations’ webpages , as well as uploaded on Erasmus+ Project Results Platform.
The third intellectual output was the project booklet. The first phase of the book is a summary and information. The second phase involved life experiences, some of the participants’ real stories. The third phase involved the project’s story. We put all the information and photos of the project. This booklet also have been shared in social media and partner organizations’ webpages , as well as uploaded on Erasmus+ Project Results Platform.
