Project Summary
Improving the ICT skills and Key competences of their citizens in a Digital Era is one of the priorities of EU policies. As partners we also have the same aim and decided to carry out this Project “Digitalised Schools”. “DS” is a Project consisting of 5 partners from Italy, Turkey, Potugal, North Macedonia and Croatia and aiming to strenghten and improve of participants’ key competences on favoured ICT elements such as “html, coding, 3D, robotics and web 2.0 tools” and lead them to integrate those elements into curriculum in schools through lots of new Innovative methods to be executed during LTT, Virtual, Local and Dissemination activities. “Digitalised Schools” also will help participants to meet new technology-based innovative teaching methods, to increase the capacity of each institution as a whole by observing in-situ training in Europe, to compare them with their own and they will make their own shortcomings and transfer them firstly to their students and their institutions. The subject of our project is basically based on how Institutions can keep pace with the New World that is rapidly globalizing by integrating basic ICT elements such as web2.0 tools, coding, 3D technology, html and Robotics with education. Our teachers and students will develop their personal and then institutional teaching and learning capacities with the achievements they have achieved through this project. The European Commission has moved the “new global conjuncture” previously mentioned in the Lisbon Strategy to a new strategy called “Europe 2020” for smart, sustainable, environmental and inclusive growth. The measures envisaged under the Lisbon Strategy to ensure a transition to a competitive and knowledge-based economy aim to accelerate the development of the information society and the establishment of the European Research Area for all citizens. It is important to increase the research and development investments of the European Union, especially in the public and private sectors, to invest in human resources and to encourage innovation in order to improve the scientific and technological infrastructure. It aims to increase the academic success of our students, develop teachers and transfer them to the institution, parents, other schools, develop human resources, and integrate scientific and technological developments into the field of education. As a result, our project coincides with both the EU 2020 vision and our partners’ strategic vision. In addition, another aim of the project is to teach teachers how to develop their students’ communication skills, organizational skills, self-expression and how to use body language correctly. In a sense, our goal is to equip teachers with the support and opportunities they need for continuous professional development, and to enable our Teachers to create valuable e-learning platforms by collecting valuable information on the favoured ICT elements.
Thanks to this project
*Each teacher will share, meet and implement the applications regarding with favoured ICT elements such as html, coding, 3D technology, Robotics and Web 2.0 tools in educational environments.
* By integrating European and world-class e-learning platforms such as Open Education Resources (OER) and Open Learning Environments (OEL) into their own teaching, it will be possible to renew teacher education activities and go to home education. system.
* Participants will gain confidence in dealing with cultural and social differences by controlling their personal and professional qualities, adopting innovative and active pedagogies.
* They will have a broader vision in understanding the educational systems, policies and practices of different countries.
* Basic competences such as digital skills and critical thinking will be developed.
* The overall trend in the European dimension will be pursued by capturing the quality of globalizing education by increasing the use of ICT in all stakeholders of the institution – staff, students, parents, other schools.
With this project, teachers will learn how to use web2.0 tools, html, coding, 3D and robotics by meeting their professional development needs. They will help students to use their homeworks, project or visual work which they have done with those favoured elements. They will also transfer their competencies to their students. In terms of their management competence, the teachers will improve the institutional capacity as well as the development of the their English in European dimension and they will recognize different cultures, communicate with them, improve their communication skills and the development of the vision of Europe will be the plus point for them. The transfer of innovative educational understanding among the institutions, we will have an opportunity to observe the European Union concept of “all equality” and‘ all different’ in place. The Project will also be executed in etwinning platform “https://live.etwinning.net/projects/project/219086”.
