Project Summary
The global Covid-19 crisis offers the chance to reshape vocational education and training. The exposure of vocational education and training providers (schools & training centers) to long-term closures, which emerged in the first quarter of 2020 with the corona virus epidemic, revealed the necessity of transforming physical classrooms and work-based learning spaces into digital learning environments. In an environment of uncertainty indicated by unpredictable labor market forecasts and other economic and social indicators from Covid-19, students should continue to motivate their learning journeys. Vocational education and training providers and practitioners must be supported with all necessary tools and resources to tackle these challenges.
With our project, a guide will be prepared to guide educators, learners or policy makers in the field of vocational and technical education with a methodology created in line with a hybrid education system that includes a mixture of physical and virtual learning. It will assist vocational education and training providers in addressing the ‘green and digital skills’ demands, curriculum and training-provision methodologies, which are among the priority targets of the EU after 2020. It will guide the way of raising students with high employability skills and sufficient skill intelligence, which the railway labor market needs. In addition, it is aimed to increase their digital and scientific competencies by re-emphasizing effective professional development for teachers and trainers.
Within the scope of our project; Blended training programs specific to Train Driver, Shunter, Traffic Controller, Railway Road Construction-Maintenance Repairer, Rail Systems Signalization Maintenance Repairer professions will be prepared. Digital learning contents specific to these training programs will be developed. In addition, digital learning practices guide in vocational and technical education will be prepared. Activities such as workshops, partnership meetings, pilot distance learning, conferences, capacity building trainings will be organized to achieve these goals. Our project has 4 partners from 3 different program countries and will last 24 months.
