School dropout is a complex phenomenon.We talk about dropping out of school when a student leaves the school, dropping out of school, stopping school. The definition of “dropping out” is close to that of “out of school”, “school failure”. Behind these vocabulary questions, there are several phenomena such as school breakup, school demobilization.
According to EU statistics, around six million young people drop out every year.
Several causes cause school dropout (SD)in partner institutions according to statistics: personal factors, school, socio-economic and family.
The objectives of the project are:
O1: Reduction of 3 percentage points of SD over the next 2 years, in partner institutions, teachers using the techniques and methods acquired during the teaching, learning, training activities aimed at reducing aggressive behaviors of students, absenteeism, SD;
O2: Training of 60 teachers from the partner institutions of the project to acquire, over the next 2 years, specific skills to work with children in danger of dropping out;
O3: Establish an international network of pre-university teachers in the following 2 years to exchange and develop new formal and non-formal teaching materials and methods to prevent and combat school failure .
O4: Development through 2023 of the institutional capacity of the 5 partner school institutions to design and implement comprehensive DS prevention and intervention programs, using strategies, procedures and tools developed with parents and local factors.
The selection of participants will be done in such a way as to fully cover the activities of the whole project: implementation, dissemination, monitoring and evaluation.
During the implementation and monitoring of the project, we aim for the following results:
a) Intangible Outcomes: The 60 direct participants will have the opportunity to participate in teaching, learning and training activities to improve their social skills (problem solving, decisionmaking, initiation), to apply their skills collaboration and enhance their cultural sensitivity.
b) Tangible results: Methodological guide to good practices made by all partners, published and distributed in the schools of the region of each partner institution, E-book contains the teaching material intended for in-service teacher training; containing the methods acquired, Dictionary of terms related to outdoor pedagogy, Newsletter: Comparative study between different school systems leading to preventing school dropout, Newsletter 2: Analysis of the level of reduction of the percentage of school drop-out: Survey of the work carried out in schools: didactic – pedagogical, project website
Project results can be viewed in electronic and printed form. Everyone can access it at any time.
They will be at the school library and the region library.
The experience gained from this project will be useful in our subsequent work on integrating the European dimension into school curricula. The lessons, the workshops done during the meetings are practice so that students act in a positive way, change their worldview, improve their moral values.
The project will also lead to knowledge of tolerance towards another culture, from one generation to the next, of students who feel social isolation, their beliefs, traditions and social differences, thus breaking stereotypical conceptions and distinguishing the similarities of the partner countries.
-Express self-esteem and satisfaction by teaching by improving organizational skills,
-Exchange experiences on dropping out and dropping out, as well as other topics with colleagues from other European countries strongly influenced only by direct contact throughout the mobility and transnational meetings.
