Project Summary

Cultural diversity has become a variable that requires special attention in education, precisely one of the objetives of this project is to address the diversity in our classroom, encouraging multiculturalism understood as the presence in the same society, European, of groups with different backgrounds and cultures.Diversity is taking on a new dimension at the moment, caused by migration in a increasingly interconnected world and the recognition of groups hitherto invisible. These immigrants are not incorporated in our countries in a scattered way, but there is a concentration of them in certain neighborhoods and schools like ours. Therefore, one of the main objetives of the project is to promote the feeling of belonging to European citizenship, for it we will work with the principle of equality, based on the recognition of cultural pluralism and rejection to the isolation of groups and minorities.This way of working ensures a better education for our students and training accessible for all, also are allowed to work in the classroom with all students improving outcomes for each and maximizing the acquisition of relevant educational skills.The last major objective of our project is rethinking the curriculum with the goal of fostering an environment of diverse cultural work, building a common model based on classroom diversity, improving the relationship with families and making an integrating linguistic suppor in our mother tongues and also in a new language, in this case English, following one of the identifying lines in our center, a bilingual center. We will work multiculturalism transversely but also thorugh new materials designed for it.In activities with our partners that we will design, the teacher is presented as a cultural mediator. The cooperative work with others teachers from others countries enriches the experience and knowledge to produce these integrators materials that minimize the differents and strengthen integration. The activities were carried out following an innovative approach, using dynamic interactive groups, meetings to exchange ideas and dialogic gatherings.Since the backbone of the projects is to create an European area, addressing the UE study together with other countries and using language proficiency in a foreign language, the expected results are an increased awareness of the rights and duties of all citizens, encouraging responsible citizenship, political culture, critical thinking and active participation in society and the development of linguistic competence in English. These results are reflected producing a positive impact on inclusive growth in the settled minority communities in our cities, improving the knowledge of their realities and encouraged dialogue among all.Among the benefits to be achieved we highlight the pursuit of total integration of students and their families in the educational community and society by promoting attitudes such as respect, tolerance, understanding, cooperation and coexistence through knowledge in the European citizenship, allowing them to be recognized as European citizens. This project ties of affection, support, solidarity towards all cultures, which ensures equal opportunities.Acceptance of different human groups with their ethnic differences, recognizing the right to be different but with the same rights and duties will allow preserving in the future existing traditions and cultures, maximazing acceptance and understanding and facilitating the search for common points that accelerate integration and reduce the feeling of being excluded. In addition, this project sends away stereotypes and prejudices. Also it eradicates any form of violence that could take place, so it helps full and complete integration of existing immigrants and could arrive, with a work plan that part from our centers with project and that extends to all educational communities and therefore our cities.
