Project Summary

This project follows that of 2015 already focused on a partnership between the Bjurhovdaskola school in Västerås and the Paul Fort school in Ifs. These two schools share a common desire to open up to the world and to promote the inclusion of all their students.

One of the main objectives of this project was to discover more deeply our mutual practices. We were able to question ourselves and especially to enrich ourselves with the discovery of another educational system. This has strengthened our desire to allow our students to grow in a sense of belonging to the same school of European values.

Our mobility, our regular exchanges, our common work around inclusion and education to the difference allowed this. We were able to develop our actions within each school but especially with each other.

Another goal was to rely on youth literature to allow our students to enrich their relationship to differences. It has been possible to decline this one in the artistic fields such as the dance (putting together of three albums), the discovery of new technologies (production of images and sounds of some albums) but especially the networking of albums of youth dealing with this subject vector of a desire for society: the acceptance of the other.
The Norman Rockwell exhibition brought a pictorial and historical dimension to this project.

Throughout the year, we fostered links between our two schools using many means of communication to make this project a reality for our students.

The multiplication of English-language exchanges between adults has improved everyone’s skills. It also allowed us to offer our students various supports in this language such as youth albums, videos, songs that have been vectors of inter-country dialogue.

The children were very curious to know the reality of the school and out-of-school life of their peers.
We felt in our students a better consideration of the other, a questioning on the notions of difference.

We plan to continue this commitment by continuing, non-formally, to correspond together. This will make it possible to perpetuate a link between two institutions, their students, but especially between people sharing the same values for the construction of a school of tolerance.
