Project Summary
The project called “The Ecological and Intelligent House” stands for a project that was financed by the European Union, as part of the Erasmus Plus Program entitled: “Cooperation for the Sake of Innovation and Good Practice”, A Strategic Partnership” – a form of cooperation between schools. That project was realized between 2015-2017.
Three partners were invited to cooperate in the “Ecological and Intelligent House” program. They came from Poland (The Technical and General Education Schools Complex in Bytom), from Turkey (Sisli Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi in Instambul) and Majorca (IES PAU CASESNOVES in Inca).
The said project involved a form of cooperation between partners from different countries with a view to reaching specified results. In the scope of that project, mobility of students and teachers was planned and executed, which had a positive influence on the participants of the project.
It should be added that it was the English language that was the “communication” language in the project.
The aim of the project was to familiarize students with alternative sources of energy as well as to familiarize them with modern and ecological technologies used in intelligent houses.
Thanks to the actions undertaken in the scope of the project, an awareness of the topic of pro-ecological approaches was raised among the students. It enabled us to combine theoretical knowledge, acquired during education at school, with practical activities.
The aforementioned project showed that the issue of environmental protection is not only a local problem but also a global one, while the application of new technologies in everyday life may have an impact on the degradation of the environment.
To be sure, the project helped increase the interest in technical and natural sciences, which can contribute to the choice of the future educational and, ultimately, the career path. At the same time, it also contributed to making the society more intelligent and better educated.
By forming a kind of cooperation between students from different countries, the aim of the project was to teach these individuals to cooperate in specific tasks, which will prove to be extremely necessary in the future. Such an undertaking most certainly contributed to improving the language skills of the participants of the project.
By participating in the program, the youth did not only acquire new skills connected with exact and natural sciences but also expanded their European horizons.
All aims of the project were completed through specific project-related activities that had been planned for and included in the submitted application. Experienced teaching staff that committed themselves to the realization of the project definitely had some positive influence on both the quality of the results and on the motivation of the youth to take part in further activities and to devise new solutions in the scope of that project. All project-related activities were, of course, subject to regular assessment.
All the results that were delivered as part of that project were disseminated in the scope of open resources so that the largest number of people could have access to them and could take advantage of them.
