Project Summary
The eLead project intends to create educational material for VET professionals (Primary Target Group) involved in training processes for workers (even future workers) and managers in high-tech/digital sector, in order to implement and promote training paths for the acquisition of e- leadership skills. The primary target group includes consultants, VET trainers, in-company trainers, experts in high-tech sector, trainers working with SME’s and start-ups, incubators and accelerators .
The final beneficiaries of the project are people working in high-tech sector, in particular in SMEs or startups (workers, Managers, Company leaders, Key roles in high-tech companies).
The partnership includes 7 organisations (Assindustria Consulting, Co.Meta srl, Università Politecnica delle Marche, Belgian-Italian Chamber of Commerce, Parque Tecnologico de Andalucia, Technology University of Delft and Institute for Entrepreneurship development) from 5 different EU countries (Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain and Greece).
The main tangible results are:
1) IO1 eLead Competence Map: description of the High-tech Leader professional profile in terms of units of learning outcomes using the ECVET and EQF standards. The competence map will be created through a comparison of the key activities to be carried out by High-tech leaders in partner countries and is based on a clear definition of the high-tech leader profile.
2) IO2 eLead Pedagogic Handbook: it is dedicated to VET professionals and includes resources (included training modules, methodologies and tools) to support the implementation of a training course for high-tech leaders.
3) IO3 eLead MOOC: an online training course for High Tech Leaders. The training path will be created to be delivered as a MOOC through an interactive platform. The materials can be used online or in blended learning environments.
Digital transformation open new chances for industry to become more efficient, to improve processes and to develop innovative products and services. It has also created unique marketplace challenges and opportunities. Several studies estimate that digitisation of products and services can add more than EUR110 billion of revenue in Europe in the next five years. (EC, Digital Single Market, 2017).
Companies, in particular SMEs, have often not realised the importance of the digital transformation for their businesses. For European enterprises to compete, grow and create jobs, EU Member States must ensure that they have access to a large pool of people who can lead the high-tech innovation and transformation of their industry (Strategic Policy Forum on Digital Entrepreneurship 2016).
The eLead project is seeking to generate particular impact for VET Professionals (primary target group) and workers in high-tech sector (final beneficiaries) through the creation of original educational materials, activities and training modules to support the acquisition of high-tech leadership skills. The project activities aim at providing VET professionals working with SMEs and start-ups with specific knowledge, skills and competences necessary to promote, guide, assist, facilitate and assess the acquisition of e-leadership skills. This aims at promoting innovative practices to reduce e-skills shortage in Europe.
The key strategy to impact on end users is to combine the training of trainers (provision of new pedagogic approaches, tools and materials) with the e-learning methodology, used to make available the course for the final users, through a MOOC. The project will impact workers, managers, companies and the economic system in partner countries fostering the supply of high-tech leaders in order to take advantage by innovation opportunities in high-tech/digital sector.
