Project Summary

The project “Enhancing Capacities of Youth Policy Makers Across Europe” (Youth Capacity), is aiming at creating a network of Youth-Focused Local and Regional Authorities that will design concrete Strategic Plans for young people, will promote EU’s agenda on Youth Policy, promote youth-focused activities, youth participation and inclusion. Policy makers and Youth Workers from the participating Local and Regional Authorities will be trained to develop Soft Skills in order to become better in delivering their work with young people. They will also be trained on EU’s Youth Strategy, on potential sources of funding for Youth Projects, on youth entrepreneurship, on the No-Hate Speech movement campaign and on opportunities for youth voluntarism.
The project’s objectives are:
• To create a network of Local and Regional Authorities with concrete Strategic plans, showing their commitment to devote resources for the young population.
• To train youth policy makers on EU’s Youth Agenda, on funding opportunities for youth activities, on youth entrepreneurship, on youth voluntarism and the European Voluntary Service as well as the European Solidarity Corps, on issues of non-discrimination, equality, inclusion and the “No Hate Speech Movement”.
•To train Youth Policy Makers and Workers to develop Soft Skills to perform their Youth Work role more efficiently and help them engage youth into society in order to avert radicalization that is one of today’s major threats for Europe’s fundamental values.
• To promote a culture of participation and engagement amongst youths so that they do not feel excluded from society.
Project’s activities will include:
• Drafting of annual Strategic Plans on Youth for each Local or Regional Authority. The Strategic plans will include measurable and concrete actions in the field of Youth for year 2020, that will act as prototype for the years to come.
• Training course for youth policy makers at regional and municipal level on Youth issues, development of Soft Skills, voluntarism, on youth entrepreneurship, and funding opportunities for youth related activities.
In order to disseminate the project’s activities, 4 Multiplier events – one in each partner country – will be organized.
